Rush Hour 2 (2001) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Rush Hour 2 (2001) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

You're so right! It's Alan King.

ED209

You identified the right guy (also in Casino), but gave the wrong name. Alan Arkin is a comedic actor most known to contemporary audiences as the grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine.

Tyler Foster

The girl driving the car that Carter tries to pick up was played by Maggie Q (Mai the henchlady in Die Hard 4). Before her breakthrough in Hollywood with Mission Impossible 3 she was a model who became part of Jackie Chan's troupe and was trained in martial arts and stunt fighting. Evil rich white dude Steven Reign was played by big time comedian Alan Arkin (edit. Alan King not Arkin). He was Andy Stone, the leader of the teamsters and major mafia honcho in Casino. Sterling the secret service man was played by Harris Yulin who was Bernstein the crooked detective in Scarface.

ED209

I find myself saying "Buttercream, buttercream" from time to time. XD

EdmanXERO

Zhang Ziyi ....sooo beautiful and such an incredible actress!! Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000), Hero (2002), House of Flying Daggers (2004), and The Warrior (2001) are my favorites with her.

Scott Kerr

I literally just described the premise of one section of one fight scene. It is honestly beyond me how that could 'ruin' anything. To use the joke metaphor from Shawn, I barely gave 20% of the setup, let alone the punchline.

Tostito Buddy

Tostito, Daniel and Sam like to go into movies without knowing anything at all about the movie. Shawn, I think what constitutes a spoiler is subjective. If you read the back of DVD cases for movies they tell similar descriptions to movies as to the first part of what he said. The second part. I'm unsure if you're saying he spoiled the end of Rush Hour 1 or the scene in the other movie. I ran into this first when I didn't know that they like to completely go in blind and I've also ran into this on Twitch and people consider telling something that happened in the movie as spoiling the entire movie, and that is simply untrue. I don't know what % of people feel this way, but I do know that growing up no one I know of felt that way and now in the present no one I know feels this way when I'm talking up a movie. I am very respectful and I don't say anything about the movies I recommend because they like to go in blind. It does make it very difficult to convince someone they should see a movie if you can't say anything about it but they want to go in blind and I respect that. I think instead of being combative and telling people they spoiled the entire scene just tell them that the reactors don't like to know anything about the movie and suggest they reword the comment to reflect that out of respect for Dan and Sam.

Alex

BTW Congrats on the new chairs. I know whatever you were sitting on before was uncomfortable.

Alex

Going to finally watch this now, but after only hearing the ending thoughts on the film, I have the perfect horror movie concept for you, Sam-Attack of the Styrofoam! Your welcome. :D

Raven Dark

Oh, I see what happened. I read it wrong. Sorry. LOL

Raven Dark

I do not think that you know what spoilers are. You completely ruined that entire scene. What you did was tell the punchline to a joke before the joke was ever told.

I love these two Rush Hour movies. Another great Jackie Chan buddy movie is Shanghai Noon, and to me the sequel Shanghai Knights is even better. It's Jackie and Owen Wilson in the wild west, Jackie is an imperial guard from China trying to find a kidnapped princess, and Owen Wilson is a funny dipshit outlaw. The sequel is them going to London. Double the fish-out-of-water comedy in the second one, since it's a cowboy and a Chinese guy rolling through late 1800's London. Shanghai Knights has the best Jackie Chan choreography scenes in a western movie in my opinion. Without spoilers, there's a scene that's the opposite of the ending of Rush Hour 1, where Jackie is fighting and trying not to break all the relics. He's fighting some guys and realises they're surrounded by their boss' expensive stuff, and just starts epically fucking with these guys once he knows they are desperate not to break anything.

Tostito Buddy

I know, that's why I mention Michelle Yeoh is from that film

You guys might remember Chris Tucker as Beaumont in 'Jackie Brown'. Edit. Daniel had to face his fears by watching Child’s Play and Arachnophobia. Sam is lucky there aren’t any movies about Styrophobia. I’m sure there are plenty of unboxing videos on YouTube though.😊😉

Mark M

Also The Myth.

Alex

Looks like we have another reaction movie :D

Sol95

I haven’t heard of that! I’ll have to ask Daniel! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Aww I think Jackie Chan is irreplaceable in this! His action sequences are just incredible, but they’re a great duo! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Interesting phobias! Ones I’ve never heard of. Yeah, the styrofoam is rough 😭 -Sam

TBR Schmitt

My favorite part 😂 -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We did! We’ll be doing a little promo on them soon as they were gifted to us 😊 -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I saw this movie only once, and it was a long time ago, so I barely remember it. I do recall really liking it though. Can't wait to watch this reaction when I'm done adulting for the day.

Raven Dark

I like Chris Tucker in this series. I just find his voice a little too annoying. It doesn't bother me as much in these movies, though, and the rest is so great I can overlook it.

Raven Dark

I believe they reacted to Everything, Everywhere. I think it's on the channel.

Raven Dark

Surely you guys recognize Chris tucker from Friday?

Mr. Chumpus

Every time I hear people talk about this trilogy, they always seem to mention Jackie Chan as their favorite. That makes sense because he's so cool and entertaining, and it's fun to see him in awkward situations.. but.. I may be in the minority when I say that I rewatch these movies because of Chris Tucker. I'm sorry but it just wouldn't be the same without his energy, his high-pitched voice and his crass humor. Maybe it's because of the PC times that we live in that people don't want to admit that they love his racial jokes, but they are absolutely hilarious. I feel like you could replace Lee with another straight-laced older detective and it would still be good. Take Carter out and it's just not the same, it becomes generic. Happy you're doing the third one. It's definitely a step down, but still has hilarious moments and lines.

Shehab Dawoud

One of my biggest phobias is bug eyes. It's the main reason I can never watch "The Fly" reaction. :'(

EdmanXERO

"You bitch!" Samantha Schmitt - 2023

EdmanXERO

That boat/ship thing BLEW MY MIND. WHY ARE THEY NOT TEACHING THIS IN SCHOOLS?! (Seriously, I'm in my 40s and I'm just learning this NOW?) Now I know why Malcolm Reynolds always called Serenity a boat!

Michael G. Munz

Another random phobia: my sister HATES the sound of fingernails on pantyhose. Luckily, nobody really wears them anymore, score!

Jen Barnes

This is the best movie in the franchise in my opinion. Action packed and hilarious scene after hilarious scene. Also you guys should checkout Rumble in the Bronx(Jackie) and Money Talks(Chris)

Richard

I hate styrofoam also. It's not exactly a phobia but it is one of the most annoying things. It gets everywhere. I ordered this bar unit and it was packed in styrofoam.. Can't stand it. ALL OVER THE HOUSE.. Literally little white balls ALL OVER THE HOUSE. And don't even get me started on packing peanuts. And for some reason it either can't be recycled or recycling centers don't take it.

Alex

They talked about it in a past video that they were eyeing some. Probably because it wasn't good for Sam to be sitting in the other chair in her condition.

Alex

Daniel & Sam , you guys gotta check out a few of Jackie Chan's Hong Kong film; Police Story (1985), Police Story 3 (1992) with Michelle Yeoh (Everything, Everywhere, All...), Wheels on Meals (1984,) Drunken Master 1 & 2 etc , some classics to choose from that are peak JC. Stunt work and choreography is incredible

Ken Veader

I love Jeremy Piven's small role when they go to get suits in Vegas. :D

Vwlss Nvwls

So much fun!!! :)

Brent

Did you two get more comfy chairs?! I don't recall seeing the chairs in previous videos.
