Dredd (2012) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Dredd (2012) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

This is one of my personal favourite action movies. its damn near perfect on the satisfaction level

Braden Derksen

Karl Urban was so cool as Dredd, so badass.

Aaron Barlow

The hot shot guy was like an extreme episode of 'Hot ones'. He got all the way up to 'da bomb'

Aaron Barlow

1987 - Anthrax - Warning: The metal is so intense that it might melt your face off! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTvrLUopM4g

Sergeant Pepper

The redhead guy you pegged as Ex Machina is also Bill weasley the werewolf brother married to Fleur Delacourte in Harry Potter.

Aaron Barlow

I would also vote for a reaction to Stallone's take in Judge Dredd. It's a very different movie -- esp. tonally. But, still a fun watch.

Ron

Just looked it up on mojo - Dredd was a bomb in the UK as well, made only around 7 million total. Was the #66 film in the UK for 2012.

Birdie Num Num

I think especially in the States the character was only really known via the Stallone version, which wasn't that popular so the 2012 Dredd was maybe dismissed as another reboot. The whole comic book history is more known in the UK. I think it did fairly well here.

Odd Thomas

Yeah, apart from this and Juno I haven't really seen her in anything for ages

Odd Thomas

1995 Judge Dredd is a passable action movie, but terrible Judge Dredd movie.

JDelwynn

Too bad this flopped and we never got a sequel, I've been waiting to see Judge Death on the screen for over 3 decades now...

JDelwynn

Yeah, I didn't watch it in theaters. It came out at a time that they seemed to just be remaking a lot of old movies in a so-so way, and I wasn't feeling it. Then a friend showed me it and I was surprised at how great it was. My loss!

David Anderson

This is such a good action sci-fi film. I saw it in 3D when it came out and while the slow-mo parts were really cool, I still can't think of a single film I've seen where the 3D made the experience better as a whole. I'm glad the fad is over. Sadly, it's almost certain that we'll never get an actual sequel to Dredd. It was a gigantic flop at the box office. It did embarrassingly bad with only $41 million worldwide which was probably breaking even at best and I've read that $50 million was the minimum for a sequel to even be considered. A lot of people say it was bad marketing, and I'm sure that was a big part of it, but there are other reasons it couldn't find an audience in the theaters.

Jeffrey Miller

As soon as I heard Stallone mentioned in the intro ,I was coming here to recommend "Over The Top" 1987 💪

Duncan

This movie, is so great! I love this film. I have heard that Karl Urban would love to do another Dredd movie. This gives me hope that maybe one day we'll get another. If we do I really hope that Olivia Thirlby returns as Judge Anderson, she was awesome!

DM DC

Honestly, I like Stallone's Dredd. It's another cheesy 90's action movie that makes no sense, but fun to watch. Like if a 10 year old boy wrote and directed a movie.

Mike Adams

One of my all-time favorite comic book adaptations. Just a simple day-in-the-life-of premise, but with all the makings of kick-ass action, great character growth, and social commentary. Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, and Lena Heady all destroy in this one. No offense to Sylvester Stallone, but this is the only Judge Dredd movie for me.

Steve Mercier

I really like that they kept his helmet on for the entire movie, and you never saw any Judge faces. That was true to the comics, at least back when I was reading them. Good on Karl Urban for not needing to show his face, like Stallone did in his version.

Thomas Yanez

I have always loved Karl Urban, but still have never seen The Boys. I love that he never takes his helmet off, but the best part of this movie for me is Lena Heady. She did a fantastic job as the villain. She was even more terrifying and sadistic than in Game of Thrones. She made this movie for me.

Vwlss Nvwls

If you want a change of pace and want to see a non-psychotic Lena Heady, check out Imagine Me and You..

Gunnar Rea

The original Judge Dredd is fantastic. Loved it as a kid. I can see why people gave it a lot of shit, it's a hideously poor adaptation. But a great movie.

Tostito Buddy

Urban is hot right now due to The Boys like they said and he 100% wants a sequel so if it's ever going to happen, it'll happen soon or not at all

Odd Thomas

No shit, man.

Thomas Yanez

You should watch the Stallone version just for comparison purposes. Both are adaptations of the same material, but VERY different movies.

Thomas Yanez

The movie was marketed so badly that it came and went. I missed it completely and this was back when I was going to see every comic book movie. Karl Urban has been trying to get sequel even a TV show made about it for years.

Reed James

Goddamn criminal we haven't gotten a sequel to this.

Andrew

You are missing out.

Andrew

Going to watch this in two segments cuz Liverpool play in a bit so pausing to say yes watching the Stallone dredd would be a fun reaction for sure . You are correct judge Anderson is super powerful I loved her in the comics , I have a Anderson graphic novel somewhere 🙂 the one with fear , death and Mortis if you know you know😃 . Loving the gasps of shock so far guys haha ok let's get back to it

Ian

Never saw this, but i Really liked Stallone's "Judge Dredd" ... Speaking of Stallone, Still Hoping for "Over The Top" from 1987

Florian Meier

The Stallone Dredd is totally different, much more standard 90s action, but it's not as bad as everyone makes out. It's cheesy fun.

Odd Thomas

You should definitely check out more Alex Garland films, particularly Sunshine (2007). Edit: You have an Annihilation reaction on here?! Cool!

Odd Thomas

YES!!

Alec S

This is an adaptaion of a long-running British comic book called 2000 AD been running since the seventies with the same continuity. I've enver read it, but this is a better example of the comic than the Stallone movie.

Reed James

Ma-Ma fucked around and found out.

Tostito Buddy

I needed something to watch then one of my favorite movies pops up on my feed!

Reed James

Lionheart (1990)
