Great reaction. Another childhood memory for me and my older bros. Check out Stephen King's Silver Bullet where Corey Haim meets a werewolf, another 80s horror classic.

I was just watching a show and this song was playing that is in the movie that you guys absolutely have to see and hasn't been recommended in a long time: House: Ding Dong, You're Dead.. It's just called House but that's what it says on the cover, don't want you to confuse it with anything else..
It's a comedy horror similar to this but actually has a lot more in common with the second Evil Dead in terms of humor style. It's incredibly hilarious and has a good cast, and also has a somewhat decent sequel but first things first: You gotta see this movie! :)

I pity the fool that didn’t grow up in the 70’s and 80’s!

The comment on Corey Feldman's voice makes me wonder how a reaction to the 1989 Ninja Turtles movie would go, lol.

I second the License to Drive (1988) recommendation. It still is a hilarious movie all these years later. The 2 Corey's were pretty huge back then and did well playing off each other

Good reaction as always. I have to say I enjoyed this more than when I first saw it when it came out.
You were wondering about the actress who played Star- that's Jami Gertz - the best thing I know her from is "Less Than Zero" (1985) - another very 80s movie , but a much more serious drama. It's based (very loosely) on a Bret Easton Ellis novel (same author who wrote American Psycho).
As for Joel Schumacher directed movies, I recommend Flatliners (1990), which is also recommended above, and Falling Down (1993).
For Jason Patric, who played Michael, I recommend Rush (1991), a good serious undercover police drama, also starring Jennifer Jason Leigh
For other Vampire films, there's Dracula (1931) with Bela Lugosi, Nosferatu (1922) , a silent movie but still very effective. Shadow of the Vampire (2000) which is a (very) fictionalized telling of the making of Nosferatu; Interview with the Vampire (1994), and on the horror/comedy side , there's Fright Night (1985).
On the completely lighter side, there's License to Drive (1988), with the two Coreys, It's a silly 80s teen comedy but its a Guilty pleasure for me.

Funny how many things I never noticed before. This is one of the movies like The Goonies that I never get sick of, probably because I grew up with it but it is great, like the Goonies and you guys pointed out, it has multigenerational appeal. And one of the things I missed is that in the video store, the video displayed to the left of Dianne Wiest is The Goonies.
Grandpa was favorite character even before he got the biggest kill (Michael gets the Assist).
Little bts fact, I've heard it was first envisioned as The Goonies with vampires, Peter Pan and the Lost Boys were also an inspiration; but if memory serves it was Richard Donner who actually suggested that they cast the vampires as late teens instead of kids. Definitely worked imo.
Although I will say the most terrifying vampire I've ever seen in my life was that kid vampire who flies in through the window in Salem's Lot, even before I ever watched the movie they used to show that damn scene for the promo commercial on regular local TV. I think that technically qualifies as child abuse nowadays lol

So true about not being able to pull a child or even 4 toward him. Vampires in lore are hugely strong and incredibly fast. There's no way they would've been able to get near the exit.

For a future poll I would like to recommend Silver Bullet (1985) with Corey Haim... It's based on the Stephen King book.

I really do wonder whether he was a sax player who decided to get into bodybuilding or a bodybuilder who thought to himself, "I'd really like to learn the sax"

Gory vampire movie... you guys haven't seen anything yet. Check out Near Dark (which has the cast from Aliens). Great reaction. The Lost Boys takes me back to my childhood. I was probably about 12 when this came out. It plays differently for a pre-teen in the 80s for sure lol.

Let's scare Jessica to Death is a really good old horror movie about vampires. It's interesting to hear you comment on the extra facial features they gave the vampires. Most vampire stuff they only have fangs, but in some movies/shows they add to them. You would love the way vampires look in Buffy :)
Whatever goes through their heart has to be wood. So either they were a wood carving or it was a mistake in the movie. There's often mistakes made like this in films. For me the funniest thing to see in movies is if you look at dead people really closely in the movies you can see them breathing, and sometimes it's really bad. lol. Not in this movie though, just commenting on something in general.
Garlic is more to ward them off but a lot of movies regard it as "an old wive's tale" that doesn't really work. Once a vampire is invited they can't generally be uninvited, so he was already invited from the first time.

Daniel is a super super likeable guy and he does not seem to have a bad bone in his body ,but it is still going to take me a few weeks to forgive him on his absolute slander in doubting Grandpa 🤨😒
He has quite the history of being suspicious of the good guys and heroes of movies 😄
Very enjoyable reaction of a super cool and stylish movie

Yes, Sam, the ‘80s were very fun. 😉
This movie is fantastic and deserves all the attention it’s getting from the “younger” generation who didn’t have the pleasure of experiencing it from the beginning. I watched this movie when I was 8 or 9 (the edited for television version) and it was the movie that started my love of vampire movies. So glad y’all enjoyed this one.

Also...the greased-up muscle guy with the hair and the saxophone...without a doubt the most 1980's thing to ever exist. When he was captured on film, the 1980's was like. 'Well...that's pretty much it. We've got a few more years here, but we can really just move on to the 1990's now.' I keep waiting for him to show up in Stranger Things, just to make it 100% authentic.

This movie is cheese done well. I mean, it's got both Corey's in it (Haim and Feldman), for $%&@'s sake. But still, I love it. I saw another comment about Fright Night, which is also another super-fun vampire movie from this era. The remake of Fright Night with Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell wasn't the worst thing in the world (David Tenant is fun in that), but the original is one of my absolute favorite vampire flicks. Also, a movie called Near Dark, which is also from the 80's, and directed by Kathryn Bigelow, holds a special place in my heart.

I highly recommend Fright Night (1985). It has a very similar vibe to Lost Boys and also has a great soundtrack. Hard to top those 80s soundtracks.

I love this one, and the soundtrack. This was so different for me as a high school student when it came out. I was enthralled from beginning to end.
As much as I love this one, my all time favorite vampire movie, also from the 80s, is "Near Dark". I highly, highly, highly suggest you check that one out. I don't think you will be disappointed.
The two Coreys (Corey Feldman & Corey Haim) were a popular movie duo back in the 80s. They did a ton of movies together into the 90s until Haim died. RIP :(
I love the grandfather in this, and the end of this movie is one of the best movie endings ever!

I know Flatliners (the 1990 one, not the remake) has some problems, but I love it anyway. A great cast, a great setup for a horror story, and directed by Joel Schumacher, who also did The Lost Boys. Actually, there are quite a few Joel Schumacher films that are worth reacting to. My favourite would be Falling Down (1993).

When I was a kid we had 3 movies of the same year recorded on VHS......LA Bamba, The Lost Boys, and Born in East L.A. lol So Lost Boys usually reminds me of the other two. We played out that VHS tape till the wheels fell off haha

Yes! Been waiting for this one! I even had the soundtrack to this movie on cassette back in the day. Gonna watch this as soon as I get home from work, but right now I just have to laugh because I always remember the saxophone guy, like why was the saxophone literally EVERYWHERE, in every movie in the 80s, well really like 85 or 86, to 89, and then suddenly gone in the 90s?
Anyway I wish there were more cool fun horror movies like this and the original Fright Night (I haven't seen the remake but I've heard it's not bad), Silver Bullet, Monster Squad, The Howling, Wolf with Jack Nicholson is good, it's 90s actually but a cool take on the werewolf subgenre, like Dog Soldiers from 2002.

Yay, I can’t wait to watch the reaction. This is one of my favorite childhood movies. I love how it is structured like JAWS, where you don’t really see the vampires in full form till the end. For the first part, it’s mostly point of view shots when they’re hunting their prey. Honestly, I prefer this so much more than THE GOONIES. Killer soundtrack too!
