Ooh didn’t even remember she said that! -Sam

"maybe he wants to fuck me and then kill me." makes me lol every time.

Ghost Crusaders

Sanseverino driving with her daughter is such a beautifully understated touch that most people probably miss, but those who catch it are really tickled by.

Denial and jealousy--the two fundamental elements of the Sopranos. It would likely come off as inauthentic if Meadow didn't ultimately act this way.

It was quite a shock when Finn gets to the jobsite that morning. I was shocked they went there. Edit: another thing I forgot to mention. Agent Sanseverino previously told Adriana that she doesn't have any kids, but we see her with her daughter in this episode. I don't think David Chase likes the FBI any more than he likes the mafia.

It's like Meadow is burying her trauma from knowing someone that was murdered. Deep down she knows her family is involved somehow, and is now wildly overcompensating in the other direction by going into denial.

I love how a big chunk of this season takes place in the summer. I spent a year living in New York and I still remember how sweaty and sticky it was from the humidity. You can sense Meadow and Finn's frustrations as they're hot as fuck and up all night arguing. They really nail how circular arguments can be when you're young and exhausted. Reminds me of a former relationship lol. The squeaky air conditioner almost seems like it's mocking Meadow's shrill voice when she's arguing. She also made chili on a hot summer day in NY. Easily the most disturbing moment in the show. Finn is definitely a stand in for the audience and is in a spectacularly awful spot. FWIW I don't think Vito ever had any intentions of hurting him. I think he would have talked to him during the game and tell him, "Hey no one can know about this alright, we're still cool though," but he's so entrenched in the mob that he just comes off as ultra aggressive. Also you can finally appreciate this gem of a tweet: https://i.redd.it/htdnvvf33g861.jpg As usual Paulie shines with his limited screen time. The gag with Joey Peeps' headstone is one of the funniest in the series. This season is about Tony coming to grips with who he really is and who every one around him is too. It's almost Shakespearean with its messages.

Far be it from me to defend Tony, but when he gets upset by Finn paying for dinner I don’t think it’s about a fragile ego, though God knows he’s got one. If I went out to dinner with my parents, or uncles, or the parents of any of my friends I grew up with and I tried to pay, they would be livid, even if they knew I made a lot more money than they do and have done so for a long time—it’s just a code of generational obligations. “You don’t take care of me, I take care of you!” It’s real, it’s kinda silly, but it’s harmless and I respect it. I don't think it's an exclusively Italian thing, but maybe it is an East Coast thing. On another note, it was really something hearing Meadow, with neither irony nor the hint of self-awareness, accuse her mother of expecting “everything handed to her.” I mean, jeez, kid. Really?

lmao good word usage

Let's not get head of ourselves! 😆

Another landmark episode. The BIG REVEAL with Vito, not something you would easily forget anyway, it is worth committing that to memory for the final season.
