The Sopranos Season 5 Episode 8 'Marco Polo' Full TV Reaction!!

Daniel had a really good one too a couple weeks ago too. I remember thinking that being the editor must really help. Sadly I can't remember what it was.

Marcus Cato

Ok.

Sam especially seems to really get this show. I’m always impressed at her attention to detail & getting what the show is trying to say. Sopranos is one of those shows that notoriously hard to predict & second guess.

Stan the Man

Why is this embarrassing? What a weird thing to say. Here’s a quote from Mathew Weiner from a dvd commentary of an episode “Nothing in the sopranos is an accident. It’s all deliberate & means something”. There are many hidden levels to this show. Some reveal themselves easily, others take time.

Stan the Man

This is embarrassing.

I’ll go into it more when the relevant episodes air but yeah. I’m surprised it isn’t a more well known tidbit. It’s one thing I’d love to ask David Chase about.

Stan the Man

The saga of Phil's car is one of the funniest things the show ever did.

David Murray

I've watched the show so many times and just now am making this connection. WOW

Shout out to Michael Imperioli for writing this fantastic episode. I know everyone hates Season 4’s “Christopher” about the Columbus Day Parade which he also wrote, but “Marco Polo” is an interesting companion piece to that one in terms of the cultural dynamics within the Italian American community. Carmela’s mom’s snobby and self-loathing attitude is a very real thing and reminds me all too much of one of my grandmothers. The shameless fawning over the Dr. and Mrs Fegoli and apologizing to them for everything, denigrating Southern Italians in favor of the North, the allusions to her worrying how dark Meadow was when she was born, the relief of not having a last name that ended in a vowel—it’s all so totally believable because I’ve heard them all, and more, in real life. Just beautifully observed writing.

Robert Livingood

Ok. I am not trying to spoil anything but I want you two to remember “Russ” ok? Dr Russ Figoli(Carmela’s fathers rude friend). Remember the name. Remember his cancer diagnosis, and remember his Vatican connection and world war 2 connection. This isn’t spoiling anything. Just remember him. Make a mental note of it.

That's one of the things about Tony that I love. When he's in a good mood, having fun, putting on a bbq in the back yard. Removed from the other aspect of his life. He is entertaining and fun. You could see yourself having some drinks/food and wanting to hang out with him. It reminds me of what Carmela said in one of the episodes. Don't remember exactly but something like "You know how it is with Tony. He just pulls people into his world"

I'm always impressed with how you guys pick up on things. Nobody gets everything right away, but you guys are certainly following the New York family plotline better than I did first time around. It's a lot to take in with a lot of new characters we haven't spent a lot of time with. That animal Blundetto, I can't even say his name, seems to create nothing but problems for Tony.

Marcus Cato

This is probably one of my top fav episodes for multiple reasons: *Tony swinging the sausages in hughs face *Hugh bringing Tony back into Carmella's life *Artie waking up with the towel on his head *Tony B pissed he had to be cameraman the whole night and couldn't relax It just felt like another day at the sopranos residence. Problems were pushed aside for the moment and people were just eating, drinking, playing marco polo in the pool and having a good time.

Joe Lazarus

Finally! This is my favorite episode in the entire series.
