Horror Movie Poll!

Help pick the Horror movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

NOTE: I have seen Saw and Tucker & Dale vs Evil, so this would only be Sam's first time reaction.

*We received a ton suggestions on the last polls, but we are trying to keep the poll sizes more reasonable. We have noted all suggestions for future polls!

**Carrie should be the 1976 version, there is no 1994 version.

Comments

It was one of the first great zombie spoofs - funny and really scary. It's also the genesis of the idea that zombies eat BRAAAINS.

Neal Romanek

Voted for the original Night Of The Living Dead - the one that started it all but there are some good ones here. The Crow is more like a dark superhero movie.

Neal Romanek

At some point you gotta get to the all time classic Return of the living dead

Nathan Steele

Agreed man...saw it by accident once...truly fucking terrifying and beautiful at the same time... would win awards if more Americans saw it

Nathan Steele

Rigor Mortis, official trailer. Hong Kong horror, excellent movie. Must watch Vampire Hunter movie with subtitles.

Trepid

I'm with you on that. Supernatural Superheroes

Smooticus

Wouldn't really consider "The Crow" a Horror movie. More like a Superhero movie (like "Spawn").

Miles E Coburn

The first Saw is much more implied gore, as opposed to the progressively more explicit gore of the sequels.

Jason Chirevas

Midsommar should be winning this

Popcorn Roulette

I’ve still yet to see Dale and Tucker but I keep hearing how good it is so will have to set aside a time one night

Rick Trujillo

Fright Night (1985) is one of my all time fav movies, the soundtrack is great too :P

esclad

The first Saw is pretty restrained as I recall. The sequels got progressively more TP

Odd Thomas

James Wan also did Dead Silence and Malignant; both are excellent horror movies

Odd Thomas

There's no martial arts in the film. Brandon lee in interviews always talked about how he wanted to pursue acting in all genres!!! He wanted to get away from being stereo typed as just a martial arts actor which is also why he did this film. You can kind of say this action/fantasy mixed with a little bit of horror elements but its not considered just a full straight up horror film!!

Demos Samolis

Night of the Living Dead, Hellraiser, Carrie are definitely must see horror classics

Ken Veader

Isn't The Crow martial arts or is it just action? I've never seen it but of course I know about Brandon Lee.

Alex

I just checked out the plot and the trailer. Looks creepy 😃😃 You know, under the surface of People you think you know. That's creepy 😬😬😬 This one I will see definitely. I even put it up on popcorn request 😉😃

Björn Karlsson

@Björn Thoughts?

Shehab Dawoud

The Crow is not a horror film, definitely one of my 90's favorite films, but not horror.

Javier Del Cid

I like Saw, i think it was good. I just never want to watch it again.

Armchair Wizard

You have to Have FAITHHH!, rememberrr..

Jonathan Patrick

I checked it out. 👍👍

Björn Karlsson

I mean, it technically IS horror - gothic to be specific - but it just wears its influences and references on its sleeve rather than in a whole bunch of unnecessary gore and jump scares.

Rue

Yes, with Anthony Hopkins as the ventriloquist. Very weird little movie, good supporting cast with Burgess Meredith and Ann-Margaret. And a really creepy dummy!

Allen S.

Man, I love both those flicks. I think having a lot of Hammer horror knowledge enhances the experience, but still great on its own.

Philip Davetas

Oddly, I wasn't the biggest fan of the first movie, but I loved a lot of the sequels. Especially, part 2.

Philip Davetas

I love CUBE. I haven't seen the follow-ups though.

Philip Davetas

BARBARIAN and X are great! MAGIC, is that the one with the dummy? I haven't seen that since the 80s. In a lot of ways I've seen a lot of horror TV shows that have often paid homage to that flick.

Philip Davetas

Honestly, at its heart, it's a kinda grisly Sherlock Holmes story with more steps and booby traps.

Rue

Not mad, not hostile. No strong punctuation, no emotes, no hyperbole, just stating my opinion as somebody who saw it in the theater when it was released and firmly believes it gets a lot of its support because of the mystique of the lead actor having died during the filming and led to a series of truly awful sequels. As for my choice(s) in the poll : "Carrie" (assuming original), "Hellraiser", "Night of the Living Dead" and "Tucker & Dale vs Evil". Also, it's just not horror and this is a horror movie poll. It's not even classified as horror by its makers.

Thomas Yanez

Yes. A wonderful movie. Brandon Lee was so good in this. The line: “Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of little children.” was written by William Makepeace Thackeray. I first heard it when I saw this movie. Gave me chills too. Simply beautiful.

Robert Boyd

classic UK underground film

Alex

@Björn There’s one that came out last year called ‘Speak No Evil’. It doesn’t do a whole lot but it still managed to be one of the most uncomfortable movies I’ve seen in a while. You know I don’t like Danish movies, but that one is right at the top.

Shehab Dawoud

Also a great movie that I like alot 😊😊

Björn Karlsson

Just wondering: Is there any danish horror movies??🤔🤔

Björn Karlsson

Thomas, why are you so mad about the Crow lol. Its okay if you don't like it, but your response was weirdly hostile out of nowhere.

Armchair Rizzard

There wouldn't be a Dawn of the dead without Night of the living dead. A classic that began the zombie genre

Mr. Chumpus

I didn't vote for it because it doesn't fit the horror criteria, but I will DEFINITELY watch this! I love this movie!

Philip Davetas

I agree!!! Hellraiser is def one of those horror films you must watch!! Pinhead today is still scary as hell!!!

Demos Samolis

It doesnt actually but please indulge us with what your choice was??

Demos Samolis

The Crow technically is not considered a horror film but i am so damn happy that its destroying the movies on this list. Its dark hands down but this is also Bruce Lees son Brandon Lee who starred in 2 other feature American films that were great and he had such promise before his life was cut short during the filming in this movie!!! Regardless what happens in this pole, please put this on your list to watch!!!

Demos Samolis

Saw isn't straight up meaningless torture porn, it has a good story that keeps you thinking, it's definitely worth a reaction at some point

dieselbeast

There is a remake of Night of the Living Dead from the 90s, and I would say it's as good or better than the original. That being said, you should still watch the original first, because it is a classic, and I think it helps you to enjoy the remake more. As for the remake to Carrie... skip that one and just stick to the original, it's a must see classic.

Vwlss Nvwls

Oh, you're so cool, PIG! I can't stand it! Sorry, but I had to paraphrase a Fright Night quote at least. :)

Vwlss Nvwls

“Oh you’re so COOL, Brewster!” There. I did it.

PIG

And The Burbs!

Jonathan Patrick

I want to do another Fright Night joke but I’ll resist it. I hope it gets chosen in October ;)

PIG

There's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse than Saw. In so many ways. Vote for what you wanna see. Problem solved.

Rue

I’m going with Psycho II, I Know What You Did, and Night of the Living Dead. Night should be watched after completing The Last of Us because none of the modern zombie tv shows/ movies would exist without it. I Know is severely underrated and was Kevin Williamson’s second success after Scream. Psycho II needs to be seen whether it wins a poll or not. It’s brilliant. Quentin Tarantino has said he prefers it to the first. Not sure if I quite agree with that, but it deserves to be seen for Anthony Perkins’ delicate performance alone.

Robert Boyd

Anything but torture porn, Saw is not my thing. While the crow is more fantasy action than horror it's a great film.

Aaron Barlow

Saw is torture porn

Aaron Barlow

The way I feel about Saw is similar to how I feel about zombie movies. It seemed novel and fun when it was new, but it was a style everyone tried to copy and the was a sequel every year for like six years. It's oversaturation retroactively makes me like the film a lot less.

Jeffrey Miller

What's the opposite of nostalgia? Because that's what I feel when I think of 'The Crow'. In middle school I had a friend who was obsessed with it and I never understood the appeal despite that I was probably the perfect demographic being a very angsty teen male with very questionable fashion and music tastes.

Jeffrey Miller

There was a remake in 2014 that I'd heard wasn't bad. But definitely check out Sissy Spacek in the 76 version first

mikethemotormouth

I have to agree with the people saying The Crow is not horror. Great movie and i would like to see a reaction to it, but, it's not horror. Saw is great too, but i would argue it's not horror either. And both are favorites in the poll, at least for now. Regardless which one will win, i will be happy to watch a reaction for any of them.

Marcio T

Fright Night (1985)

Jonathan Patrick

The Crow is a great movie although it's not exactly horror. Nonetheless, even if it doesn't win....well, it can't rain all the time. ;)

Scott Kerr

There is no reason The Crow should win a horror movie poll. Guys, you might like the movie, but it is not a horror movie.

Mike LL

The Crow isn't really horror, but it's still the best film on the list imo

Odd Thomas

Original 'Carrie' is great. I'm worried that typo will hurt it in the poll.

Thomas Boyette

Yes! THAT's a horror movie!

William 1611

X would be fun!

Shehab Dawoud

Slasher movies, teen-scream movies . . . a good collection, but nothing really "horrifying" in my opinion. ("Psycho" was horrifying, as was "The Exorcist.") But I'm voting very enthusiastically for "Midsommar." It came from your friends at A24, who gave you "Hereditary" a year later. OR, you could watch "Let the Right One In," or Arnold Schwarzenegger's amazing, heartbreaking, totally out-of-character film, "Maggie" (2015) costarring Abigail Breslin. That one would require a box of tissues.

William 1611

The Crow is fantastic. My late girlfriend made me watch it a few years ago and it was fantastic. The sentence he uses to describe a mother sends chills through me every time.

Korny

So then don't vote for it. Easy.

Rue

I'm not going to lie. I voted for Hellraiser for my own selfish reason to see Sam's horrific facial expressions. I don't expect it to win, but my God that reaction would be epic.

Robert Cintron

The Crow gets too many reactions. Assuming it gets any reactions. One is too many for me.

Thomas Yanez

The Crow doesn't get enough reactions.

Armchair Rizzard

yes do this one!

Troy

I'd love to see your reaction to Cube (1997)

richard wilkinson

Barbarian X Magic (1978) Titane

Allen S.

98% of films will never win a poll, and there are countless great films within that 98%. Psycho 2 is one of them. It will never win a poll. I would really love it if you watched it this year, for its 40th anniversary. I would also love to see you react to Night of the Living Dead, which would allow you to watch Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead (the original Romero zombie trilogy).

Future Boy

My recommendations: Creepshow (1982) Angel Heart (1987) Suspiria (1977 and 2018) - both are good and quite different. The Witch (2015) Two Evil Eyes (1990)

Samolina Pilchard

Thanks for letting us know. Great movie and I am adding my vote to Carrie!

Mike LL

I think the 2018 remake is good also , with an even more insane ending.

Samolina Pilchard

It is the original version of Carrie, I responded to an above comment. I cannot change the polls once they’re posted -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yeah - really disappointed 1976 version of Carrie is not on the poll Edit - From the comments above it looks like the 1976 version was meant, so I'voted for it.

Samolina Pilchard

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_Soldiers_(film)

Björn Karlsson

True. It is a great movie nonetheless. Damn taxes.

Paul Barrett

Watching you two react to Hellraiser will be a sight to behold.

James Willingham III

I would love to see his original zombie trilogy on the channel, but if that won't happen until Night of the Living Dead wins one of these polls, then it might never happen😢 it has already failed several times on repeated polls on this channel, but the fact that it keeps returning on the polls, suggests it is on their radar, so I agree with you and say they should just go ahead and watch the trilogy 🏆

Duncan

Well it should represent Scotland, but it was cheaper to film it in Luxembourg. It had something to do with taxes 😃😃😃 But the movie is awesome 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Björn Karlsson

Aw really, I never knew that. Ignore my comment then Sam :-(

Paul Barrett

I think they should do a George A. Romero marathon and watch all of the movies in order.

Alex

Dawn of the Dead (1978) is George A. Romero's most popular zombie movie and by far my favourite zombie movie ever made,it would be great to see that given a chance instead of Night of the living dead

Duncan

An awesome movie 🥰🥰🥰 But it was actually filmed in Luxembourg 😃😃😃 Btw... "There is no spoon"

Björn Karlsson

Midsommar is what I hope wins

Jason Dolan

Let the right one in ftw, but maybe you have done that???

Björn Karlsson

It really is! It's an interesting horror film, but it's also ridiculous and silly.

Jeffrey Miller

It didn't look like you enjoyed the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but you really should give Part 2 (1986) a try. It may still be the only comedy of that franchise that has a lot of fun gags while still scaring the crap out of the audience. We were so fascinated with the second movie as kids that we memorized every word of it and would recite the whole movie during football practice as if it was Shakespeare. "Return of the Living Dead" (1985) is another horror comedy that is perfect '80's nostalgia with big laughs and scares.

Erwin Quiachon

Dog Soldiers is part set in Scotland, so you may see some of your ancestors Sam lol

Paul Barrett

Oh shit! I fucking love DOG SOLDIERS! I have the T-shirt and everything! I just bought it for the third time on 4K!

Philip Davetas

Fright Night is some good ol' 80's horror fun, though I doubt it will win. there's always next October!

StarChild

Why not Carrie 1976? I voted for Psycho II.

Mike LL

Original Saw is a classic. Original Carrie is great, too.

Sol95

Saw is pretty graphic. Have a puke bucket handy. Great series tho.

Jon

Suspiria (1977)

Robert Sackrider

I really don't want Saw to win.

Armchair Rizzard

Dog Soilders is a good one. I suggest you go in blind, don't even look at the DVD cover or poster if you can help it.

Twiska Brand

I mean, it's a great movie. But I wasn't scared or anything.

Philip Davetas

I don't know. Maybe? I always thought of it as a superhero movie myself. But that's me.

Philip Davetas

The original, yes! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Whoops! Don't know how I did that -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We've seen The Conjuring and I think Annabelle! I'd have to check on that second one! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Tucker & dale is one of those movies Sam would just love so gets my vote although the crow is iconic so sad Brandon died during the making of it 😥 the puppet master movies could be fun 🙂

Ian

Google says its horror! LOL -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Midsommar is just funny lol

f hf

I assume you actually mean Carrie (1976) and not (1994). There are remakes of Carrie in 2002 and 2013, but the original is from 1976. Doesn't look like enough people have seen it, but Psycho II is a really underrated sequel.

Tyler Foster

The Crow is good but I wouldn’t call it a horror movie.

James Whalen

Carrie is 1976 btw. Quite a big time jump there, 18 years😅

Shehab Dawoud

So many good choices... hard to choose.

Marcio T

If you haven’t seen them you guys should react to The Conjuring Universe films (Conjuring, Annabelle, The Nun, etc)

Tristan Durant

I wouldn't call THE CROW horror, but it has some undead elements to it. I voted for T&D--must watch.

Philip Davetas

🤣 got to be Saw

Alex

all of these options are SO GOOD😭
