But he can't tell her because it will make her an accessory. Her going to the bank with that money endangers the very future she wants to protect because all that cash is undeclared, She married into a life of a mobster and it's very well known and she knows that all these guys have money "under the mattress" for rainy days or whatever they call it. Now yes, it would be easier for Tony to tell her about it if they were in a typical marriage but they're not. Also, in his business, he could lose $100,000 in one day, what wife would be happy about that, so I'm sure he thinks "If she doesn't know how much is in their total she can't get upset when we lose some to the feds, payoffs, deals, etc." I'm not saying Tony is doing a good thing, I', just saying this is the life they've chosen and Carm should know the only thing Tony ACTUALLY really does care about is his family and money, and he's not going to leave them with scraps, I'm sure it's not easy for Carm though, be she knew what this life would be. You don't get $50,000 dollar bracelets because it's Tuesday, from a normal tax-paying lifestyle. lol lol lol

I swear in my head I was thinking, is this The Fugitive? hahah -Sam

Carmella is certainly not innocent in this, but if Tony just told her then she wouldn't feel the need to be stealing it. It's not like she's spending it frivolously, she thinks she's preparing for the future and investing it properly -Sam

Such an ass hahaha -Sam

The simpler times, I'm dying hahaha That moment where Paulie realizes the truth about his mom was priceless! Can't wait for the rest of the season! -Sam

You guys touched on something interesting in your comments about Tony's wishy-washy behavior. Inconsistent and unpredictable emotional responses are textbook symptoms of borderline personality disorder. Tony's mother Livia is considered a textbook example by a lot of people, and Tony and Janice definitely show signs of it. I'm certainly not an expert on these issues, but there is a lot of interesting discussion out there on this stuff when you guys have wrapped up the whole show. Edit: Spot on comment from Daniel about Tony being a negative wall of gravity.

It's interesting that in the season 2 episode "Commendatori" Annalisa says that she collects and burns her nail clippings so that her enemies don't put a curse on her, and now a lost nail is threatening to place a curse on Tony and Carmela's marriage. The movie Tony is watching is The Fugitive, which Joe Pantoliano stars in. "Whoever Did This" is a top 3 episode for me, and it'll be the best episode to this point you two will have watched. "The Strong, Silent Type" is powerful, too. If only we can fast forward to next week.

I agree. These uploads are some of the highlights of my week, and also like medicine.

Future Boy

These reactions continue to be a treat. Next week might be my favourite episode "pair" you've watched, so can't wait!

Future Boy

He's the Alpha! Plus, let's face it, it's not like these are 21-year-old college girls he's getting. He's getting women who have issues, either because of where they grew up (Irina), or because of their self-esteem (Gloria Trillo). Valentina herself is maybe the least like these other ladies, but still, I don't think the women in the show are leagues away from Tony. They all gravitate to the alpha.

The one thing that really bothered me about this show is all these beautiful women going batshit crazy to sleep with a big fat ugly bald greasy slob with a speech impediment. No offense Tony S

A. DOES TONY HAVE A MAGIC PENIS?? That's the question of the series, especially with Valentina B. You guys have it wrong about the money and Carmella's a little brat about it. That money ISN'T SOME CHILDISH "fuck you it's mine" to Carmella or some secret for just Tony... IT'S LITERALLY STASH BOX MONEY which means it's EMERGENCY MONEY ONLY! Tony doesn't have it there to "HIDE IT FROM HIS WIFE" it's to hide it from everybody. Now yes, every now and then he'll use some but he'll replace it with a bigger amount. It's a Jewish law all Italians use called "Replenishing" IT'S NOT SPENDING MONEY. THIS IS THE MONEY SHE'S ALWAYS BITCHING ABOUT "What if something happens to you!?" but then she steals it!! He literally hides is so in case he dies she has roughly half a million on hand.

“I don’t understand. When I was a kid, you two were old ladies. Now I’m old, and you two are still old.” Paulie might be a psychopath, but he is downright hilarious!…😂 😂

Is it just me, or do the descriptions of Ralphie’s sexual predilections make you too yearn for the simpler, more innocent times of Richie banging Janice holding a pistol to her head? We all thought Livia was a horrible mom, but can you imagine what a monstrous lunatic Mother Cifaretto must have been to produce a son like Ralph? What a conflict for Paulie this week, huh? He really has only two cardinal rules: dote on your mother and never be a rat. Turns out his beloved ma’s a rat. What’s a mafioso to do? Great reactions this week, and next week can’t get here fast enough. For me, episodes 9 & 10 are the high points in the season.

“Like high school with wheelchairs” 😶 Another great couple of episodes. I’ve watched both, and I’m ready for next week. And I’m looking forward to Cape Fear later tonight. Don’t you love the way some peoples’ lives and happiness are contingent upon your uploads? 😶 It’s a strange age we live upon.
