The Bourne Supremacy (2004) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Well as an ugly Kiwi I at least can have a cold look.

Aaron Barlow

They got that handsome-cold look down to a T

Adam Baker

Sam, just know in the books they didn't kill Marie. They even had kids. Only the first movie like the books. They diverged greatly. The books are very much entrenched in the 60s dealing with the Vietnam War and Communist Terrorsit groups.

Reed James

She survived in the book series. They even had kids.

Reed James

i have to disagree, while yes the shaky cam is at an 11, the pacing of the movie and the darker storyline really gives this a much more serious tone than the first and raises the stakes for the character. i think this is much better than the 1st one, but the third is the best of the trilogy. While killing Marie didnt need to happen for Bourne to pursue them, it gave him a greater motivation to seek revenge. The revenge aspect of this movie really gives it an added layer of intensity. By taking away his memory and now someone he loves, it just gives him a greater reason to bring it all to an end. i thought taking out Marie was a great twist.

James

For me, the worst part is that I watched it this time and I felt like if they just put in a few more wide establishing shots, which are sometimes used, then it wouldn't be quite as bad.

Tyler Foster

Seconding anyone who said you should watch Run Lola Run, which is the thing that led to Franka Potente (Marie) being enough of a recognizable face to get cast in the original Bourne.

Tyler Foster

I heard it was bad, but damn it was so distracting. Did people really think that looked good?

Jeffrey Miller

Run Lola Run is one of the most iconic 90s movies

Odd Thomas

My least favorite of the trilogy, the action scenes were barely watchable with the camera work

Ken Veader

Great Reaction !! The Death of Mary is a very sad Scene ... You Really need to check out more Franka Potente Movies like "Run Lola Run" or "Anatomy" from 2000 ... Great Actress

Florian Meier

Nah, the Alien3 treatment would be Jason waking up in bed at the start of the movie and Marie just being dead for no reason whatsoever.

Nick of Time

Same thing (although probably to a slightly lesser degree) happened while I was watching it about 100 miles north of there, in Sedalia.

Nick of Time

It kind of annoys me that Doug Liman established the whole Bourne aesthetic, then Paul Greengrass comes along saying 'I'll copy that but just shake the camera more' and everyone was like 'Genius!"

Odd Thomas

As a Kiwi whose dad went to prison (falsely) for assassination style double murder I agree.

Aaron Barlow

To be fair the ideal rooftops were deserted and they would stand out.

Aaron Barlow

Is funny but I'm with you Sam, in that I'm very much a carsick kind of person, although I did enjoy this movie quite a lot. BLAAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!

Guston Zimasheen

Yes it's true, we're all Assassins here in NZ. jk

Guston Zimasheen

I just thought it was hilarious how the snipers were not covert at all! All you had to do was look up. Lol

Tristan Durant

Sam, I felt the same way about Marie. That's why I said I wish the series had stopped at one :) I know it's a great action movie, but...

Allen Bond

I watched this movie at a theatre opening weekend in Springfield, MO, of which Nixa is a suburb. When Pam says Jason was born in Nixa there was an audible gasp in the theatre followed by cheers!

Nicotti

Don't feel bad, Sam. This movie is kind of famous for what not to do with shaky cam. Lol Yeah, I felt like we got Alien 3'd with Marie dying. 😞 I've got something else, but don't want to spoil Bourne Ultimatum for you. ✌️

ShadowVessel π

I always hated that they killed Marie. I would of rather the two of them part ways and she live. :(

Vwlss Nvwls

Karl Urban is one of my favorite actors after Tom Cruise and Timothy Olyphant. All three of them do such an excellent job at any part they play. Although I still have not watched The Boys, but one day I will.

Vwlss Nvwls

Lol really? He's a younger Billy Butcher for sure!

Aaron Barlow

When Sam said that she's happy to see Marie back and TBR had that 'Oh boy' wink at the camera look it made me laugh lol

Aaron Barlow

Love watching his reaction on these types of things after haha -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I still can't see Karl Urban haha -Sam

TBR Schmitt

That's fair! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOL the villains usually think they're smarter than they are -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We haven't been, but I've seen videos and I could never drive there! I'd be so stressed! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Great Movies all of them

Michelle Hoffman

The knowing look by Daniel after Sam says she’s happy Marie was in this one😅. I’m still watching but needed to comment😊

Mark M

2 New Zealand actors playing the bad guy assassins Karl Urban and Martin Csokas. Kiwis being typecast? Lol

Aaron Barlow

As soon as I saw that guy pull that rifle out in the beginning I knew Marie was a goner. It was ok, but I couldn't get as into it as the first. That shaky cam was so over the top it was distracting. Handheld shots can be great, but some of these action sequences didn't look like they were handheld, they looked like they strapped the camera on top of a paint mixer. It's not the worst thing in the world by any means, but did anyone else think the CIA's complete lack of operations security at the start seemed awfully convenient? They're chasing this super assassin/secret agent and the head of the operation checks into a hotel with her real name, and then they have the blinds open at their base of operations. Overall, not terrible, but not as good as the first in my opinion.

Jeffrey Miller

Good idea for Landy to throw Jason a bone about his past when he can reach her anytime he wants

Richard

Such an exciting film series and this is a strong entry. It is interesting that for a hot minute the Bourne movies were the best spy movie franchise, in the middle of the 2000's decade, and had a great influence on its competitors, the Mission: Impossible franchise and the Bond movies. Than later in the 2010's the Mission: Impossible movies exerted its dominance of the spy movie genre and it is just sad that in the 2000's the Bond series consistently was in sad, third place.

Mike LL

This was a great movie but yeah it sucked that Marie was killed in the beginning.

Alex

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck yes... I have something to do tomorrow morning...

Steve Mercier

How smart was the guy trying to frame Bourne to take his fall. Let’s see I ran a super assassin named Bourne who played the whole CIA for morons. Yeah that’s who I’m going to frame. This moles only insurance was a Russian two bit killer who was supposed to kill Bourne in India.

Jason Mangen

One word for this movie The Bourne Supremacy is Epic and that pretty much describes Jason Bourne as well.

Anakin Starkiller

The traffic e scene in India was very light compared to what it really is.

Jason Mangen

Oh nice 🥳 i know what I'll be watching now tomorrow morning 🙂 I shall be getting coffee and most likely a bacon sarnie or two to have while watching 👍
