The Sopranos Season 2 Episode 11 'House Arrest' Full TV Reaction!!

Comments

It may seem like not much happens, but you really deepen your understanding of these characters. It's what makes the show so special.

I used to live on that street in Little Falls, NJ that the truck dumped the trash in front of the store. We lived their after the episode aired, however. Many houses, including ours, were flooded multiple times due to flooding from the river at the end of the street. I think we only lived there like two or three years.

I love the final moments of this episode. Pure Sopranos, with nothing much going on, quiet, understated conversations about nothing, and a vibe I can't get enough of. The reason I have to rewatch this show every few years is because I miss hanging out with these characters.

I love how strangely unique The Sopranos is. Two episodes away from the end of an epic season, and this show is prepared to have an ultra quiet episode, where almost nothing happens, and is largely about Tony being bored and Junior being stuck at home. I love this episode, simply because I love hanging out with these characters.

Future Boy

I knew the name sounded familiar, but I was too lazy to look it up.

Agreed! I've always loved this scene and the conversation with the FBI agents kills me. The way agent Harris asks him about the accident "Friend of yours?" Tony's response. "He drives too fast...he's always fuckin hittin shit!"

You guys seemed confused about a couple of scenes. Allow me to clear things up... 1.) When the nurse asked the FBI guy if his name was actually Marshall McLuhan, it's a reference to a Canadian philosopher from the 60's (Marshall McLuhan) who studied the social effects of mass media. He coined the famous phrase "The medium is the message", which means any form of communication used (Movies, TV, Books, Podcasts, Social Media, etc) will affect the perception of the message to its audience. Highly relevant in today's world. (War, Politics, Entertainment, etc) 2.) When Tony and Ritchie are talking to each other in the new house, Ritchie compares his more expensive skim coat walls to Tony's "plain sheetrock shit" in an attempt to get under his skin. Tony had to immediately leave because he was starting to have a panic attack triggered from the rage he was feeling after the insult.

That final scene is one of my favorite in the entire series. The guys just hanging out, BS’ing and Tony even having a friendly conversation with the FBI agents; for me, it just underscores the idea that for all the bad things they do, they’re not that different from the average person in a lot of aspects of their lives. Like, this could be “you” if you grew up in different circumstances or whatever.

Glad to hear Daniel is feeling better. And very happy to have these reactions to devour later tonight!

Future Boy

Can’t wait to see y’all reactions to these episodes.
