Enter the Dragon (1973) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is an iconic martial arts movie. Also the Ip Man series with Donnie Yen!

If you ever get around to it, Bruce Lee's "Way of the Dragon" (1972) also has a young Chuck Norris as a bad guy.

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Storry

Now that you’ve seen this, I really hope you consider watching “Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon”. No relation to “Enter the Dragon”, but the main character idolizes Bruce Lee and it’s just a great movie. Also Bruce Lee’s other movies are definitely worth a watch. Sadly, it’s a short filmography.

Alot of sports fans are well if he was in mixed martial arts he would be challenged. No because Bruce Lee loved teaching Jee Kun Do which was the martial arts he was training his students in . Many believed that he could not teach martial arts or even get people interested in it in America. Would he flourish in UFC or any other mixed martial arts. I believe if he were still alive he would still be teaching. So no i don't think he would but i do believe that he would have students that would probably fight .As far as this movie it pretty much speaks for itself this was the movie that his pride and joy . He wanted to do this movie and to me he made the greatest martial arts film ever made .

You should watch "Kentucky Fried Movie". I was written by the same guys as "Airplane!", #Top Secret!" and "Naked Gun". There is a 30 minutes bits in it called "A Fistful of Yen that parodies "Enter the Dragon" it's really funny. If you only want to see this part it's on youtube but maybe you should see the whole movie. And it's directed by John Landis who did "Trading Places", "An American Werewolf in London" and "Coming to America among others

The Last Dragon is like a love letter to Bruce Lee, with an AMAZING soundtrack. One of my all time favorite movies.

EdmanXERO

I love Kickboxer, but Kickboxer and Bloodsport are so similar that I don't think they should watch them back to back. I'm still desperate for a reaction to Hard Target, my favourite Van Damme. Lionheart would also be great.

Future Boy

This was Jim Kelly's (Williams) first movie. He became a movie star after this and made quite a few action movies in the 70s himself. My favorite of his would be his appearance in "Three The Hard Way" (1974).

Now that you two have seen this Bruce Lee classic, I hope you will watch "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story". It is an excellent movie about Bruce Lee's life, starring Jason Scott Lee (no relation).

This is the movie that teaches us the art of fighting without fighting. :D

Bruce Lee was so amazing, as well as his son Brandon Lee. They both died far too soon, and I often wonder what the world of martial arts and movies would have looked like if they lived a long life, and a long life together.

Anytime Bruce Lee takes his shirt off, or tastes his own blood, you know shit's about to get real. He was actually too fast for the cameras. He had to slow down his speed so that the camera could actually record his movement without being blurred.

Bruce Lee didn't get thrown into a car 0/10 lol I hadn't seen this movie since I was a little kid so I all really remembered was the mirror fight and the bear claw. In fact, I'm sure I saw this before puberty because I'm sure I would have remembered all the sexy ladies lol. That was fun! The dubbing wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but the master at the start was kinda funny. I'm not saying the fight choreography back then was bad, but it was definitely different and I have to say I like that it's evolved quite a bit since then. Some of the fight scenes are really impressive, but I think the slapping/whip cracking sound effects when people hit each other kind of takes me out of it. The performances were fun, especially Williams. Also this movie made me think of 'The Last Dragon' (1985). It's a martial arts comedy with some Blaxploitation influences. I totally recommend it.

1:21:28 Daniel and Sam, believe it or not, that "poor guy" Bruce neck-snapped was Jackie Chan! Hahahaha, before he became a top martial arts action star, he was starting off as just a stuntman. Also, Bruce Lee made only 4 martial arts movies before he passed (5 in total, but his last film, Game of Death was incomplete due to his death.) With Game of Death, he was filming that before Hollywood came up to him about Enter the Dragon. Since this would be the film that would bring him to the American audience, Bruce put Game of Death on pause to film this, and the plan was to resume it once this movie was done. Sadly, he never got to finish it, but it was clear Game of Death would've been his best film by far. The other movies Bruce Lee did are "The Big Boss", "Fist of Fury", and "Way of the Dragon". I hope you guys react to those, too!

EdmanXERO

Who the fuck has a room like that. All I can say it was the 1970’s baby.

Jason Mangen

All these old hong kong movies were made with ADR in edit.

Terry Lee

Another great reaction! My favorite martial arts movie! Such a shame we lost Bruce Lee (and his son Brandon Lee) so soon. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story is a movie about his life. It's not 100% accurate but it's entertaining. If you haven't watched Jackie Chan yet, his movies would make for a good action hero series since you've watched the majority of Arnold's and Stallone's good stuff. Jackie did some crazy stunts in his early films, and they have some good humor and light-heartedness as well. Ong-Bak and The Protector starring Tony Jaa are other martial arts films I enjoyed. Story and acting are okay, but the fight scenes are cool. Can't wait to see what you two watch next! 😁

Nismo

I concur!

Richard

It was great to see you two react to Bruce lee! Though this was Bruce Lee's only Hollywood film, I don't consider it his best, as far as the martial arts fights are concerned. Please react to his Hong Kong films: "Fist of Fury" (1972) a.k.a. "The Chinese Connection" "Way of the Dragon" (1972) a.k.a. "Return of the Dragon" The different titles were the Hong Kong titles and the U.S. titles. Also, Jet Li made a fantastic remake of "Fist of Fury" called "Fist of Legend" (1994) that is a must-see!

Mr. Writhms

Please were begging you since your doing Bruce Lee, Get back to Van damme. Do some Segal and definitely check out Brandon Lees movies. Bruce lees son was amazing too. They both died on the sets of their movies which is very scary coninsidence as it is!!! As far as eventually you guys getting to the "Stallones Expendables series" you need to watch more Van Damme and Dolf Lundgren movies to appreciate their awesomeness. For van damme, I would say Kickboxer, Lionheart, Universal Soldier(Dolf Lundgren is the villain it it) and Hard Target should be great. For Dolf just watch Showdown in Little Tokyo which also stars Brandon Lee and your good. Just some of my thoughts!!! Keep it up guys!!!Your the best!!!

Demos Samolis

yes guys please!!! Im with Ken on everything he said. Kickboxer with Van Damme should be next. Segal should be Above the Law because its his first movie and Brandon Lee only has 3 American movies before his untimely death. You guys would definitely enjoy all 3of his movies which are Showdown in Little Tokyo (Dolf Lundgren is in it too), Rapid Fire and The Crow!!!

Demos Samolis

Looking forward to this. If you ever do another martial arts poll, I recommend Drunken Master II, aka the Legend of Drunken Master, with Jackie Chan.

Marcus Cato

Few Martial Arts films I gotta ask you guys to consider watching: Above The Law (Steven Seagal, 1989), Best of the Best (1989) , Rapid Fire (Brandon Lee,1992)... also hope you check out more Jean Claude Van Damme movies

Ken Veader

@TBR Schmitt, "So.........BRUCE LEE, HUH!........well you two are going too love this and when you both are done with that, Berry Gordy`s `The Last Dragon'(1985). You`re going too love ETD, then you`re really going too love it TLD."
