That's right. Maccio is actually older than him but the difference is less than a year.

Stephen King is correct. Ralph Macchio is turning 61 this year in November, whereas Thomas Ian Griffin turned 60 in March. So technically they're currently the same age as of this posting

Are you sure about that? Ralph Maccio is 60 but I heard a lot of stuff about how Ralph Maccio is over than Thomas Ian Griffith.

Martin Kove is currently 76 and Thomas Ian Griffith and Ralph Macchio are both 60.

Oh yeah. That was CGI young Johnny. They did an amazing job with that. It looked very real.

This is one of my favorite episodes. It really hearkens back to the Kung Fu movies of yore of the 70s and 80s.
When that sensei (I always forget his name, something woo) asks “What do you want with Sensei Silver?” and the dialogue that goes on between him and Johnny.
And then it gets iconic when Kim Da-Eun just starts waltzing out with her swagger and the dialogue is just classic, when she says “You wish to fight?? Joon bi!” And they all jump into fighting stance.
Alicia Hannah-Kim really knocked it out of the park. It’s always amazing to see those actors that are radically completely different than their characters. For example if you want Martin Kove in interviews, he IS Kreese. His mannerisms, the way he talks, his facial expressions are all the same as Kreese. Same with Ralph Maccio. But when you see Alicia Hannah-Kim you see a completely different person from Kim Da-Eun. I was watching a behind the scenes video and someone called out “Alicia” and she turned around and responded and she was still in character. Also the stunt double was there so it was surreal to see “two of them,” they looked like clones.

I thought it was interesting - rewatching - that Sensei Kim's first question was where Kreese was. Then replied it was a disappointment that he wasn't involved with Cobra Kai anymore.

Awesome episode. I love the transitions when Kreese was talking with the therapist, and how they used that to set up his younger version in the prison fight. That was a smart way to do that. You can just feel how exciting the rest of the season is likely to be. I cannot wait to watch the next two episodes with your reaction. :D

The opening scene gave me “Kill Bill vibes.” 🥷

The reference for Amanda taking a bat to a car was calling back to season 4 when she confessed to Daniel that she went after her teacher for having an affair with her father and got arrested.

I didn't know who Jessica was either until they started talking about Terry Silver.
This is my favorite episode aside from ten. As you might guess from my tons of recommendations for Kung Fu movies I am a huge fan of especially the classic kung fu movies from the 70s and 80s. The foreign ones especially (mostly Chinese). That scene with the blond sensei I can never remember his name.
Before I continue I wanna say I saw part of that in the trailer and I thought the blond sensei was Mike Barnes.. because they didn't show his face, only his blond hair lol. I repeatedly said it trailer reactions OMG!!! That's Mike Barnes! but then I realized it wasn't when more footage came out.
But that scene where he's like "What do you want with Sensei Silver?" and Johnny's like "I wanna beat his ass" and what follows is just classic martial arts movies.
There's always this extreme confidence portrayed with masters and senseis and stuff and you always have them trying to fight each other. You see this in old Kung Fu movies and in anime as well.
And then it just become iconic when Kim Da-Eun just waltzes out there with her swagger and it's that iconic line.. "You wish to fight?? Joon bi!" and all the senseis get ready.
I almost expect the voices to be dubbed in that scene. Probably one of the best scenes in the series.
Alicia Hannah-Kim really knocked it out of the park. It's always amazing to see actors portray a role so radically different from who they are in every way. For example, when you see Martin Kove in an interview.. He IS Kreese in terms of facial expressions and the way he talks. But there are those actors who.. they're nothing like the character they're playing and they play it so well.
