The point is knowing, and celebrating the change.

Jason Chirevas

Rambo 2 is already on Patreon

Guston Zimasheen

"Dancing with Wolves" , "Robin Hood" from 1991 and "No Way Out" from 1987, "The Fabolous Baker Boys" from 1989 ... But the Main Part is Top Gun and Rambo 2

Florian Meier

I see your point and agree that the ending becomes more heart breaking the more you know. But since this is presented as a sorta fairy tale, I would honestly want to see people’s reaction to the film if they had no prior knowledge of the horrific events of August 8/9, 1969. Because once you know, you know.

Robert Boyd

I once caught my parents chatting and eating spaghetti for dinner in front of the TV. They were watching an operation show about some guy getting a tumor removed that showed the surgery. I stood there for a few seconds, and when they looked at me like WTF, I just said "Did it have to be fucking spaghetti?" and just went to my room. I have monster genes.

Tostito Buddy

"A River Runs Through It" 1992

Erwin Quiachon

To make a long story short: The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and occupied it during most of the 80s. The US provided weapons, training and resources for a lot of those fighting the Soviets. While not always directly, some of the fighters we provided support for would later go on to form Al Qaeda.

Jeffrey Miller

Outstanding! I’ll be looking forward to it.

David Wilkins

Yeah, so, like…pace your courses, Sam.

Jason Chirevas

He’s not wrong.

Jason Chirevas

The tagline for RAMBO (2008) should have been “Think you’ve seen gun violence? Well…you haven’t “

Jason Chirevas

HARD DISAGREE regarding prior knowledge of the Manson Family. The ENTIRE POINT of ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD hinges on the viewer’s familiarity with those events. The movie cannot be appreciated as intended unless you know why Tarantino makes the choices he does.

Jason Chirevas

I’ll back you up, Tostito. OUATIH is the best Brad Pitt’s ever been.

Jason Chirevas

Totally agree, this is Pitt's best bit of acting.

Beau Mont

I appreciate the thought, but it’s a 12 episode series that’s about 8-10 hours long. 🤣

Jarrod Hornbeck

Agreed! It's a fantastic film and for those of us, ahem, who are a little older it was like getting in a time machine!!!

Chris Bruneau

I watched the entire series in its original run, but grew to despise many of the characters by the end. But everything is subjective. I wish u the best enjoyment of the series 😁

Chris Bruneau

Ooh! This makes me even more excited to watch it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Can't wait to experience it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh awesome! Can't wait! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Aww maybe it'll grow on you! I'm excited as well :) Loving the Tarantino journey -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Absolutely! Let us know if there is anything else we need to see before we hit the Hot Shot films! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We haven't yet! We've been reading up over the last day on Manson and Tate, but if we have some extra time, we'll definitely check out the podcast! I would say while we have dinner tonight, but idk if that sounds like a good dinner listening! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Can't wait! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We definitely want more Coen Brothers and more Frances! I tentatively have Blood Simple on the schedule for November after Spooky Season, so if nothing changes, we will be watching it then! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

This comment made us crack up! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

*gulp* what now? -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Interesting! Definitely going to have to come back to this comment after we watch it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We cannot! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Over the Top is definitely on our Stallone list! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Aww! Well we are excited to see more Rambo! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yay it's finally here! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Such a good one! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Am I nuts to say it's Brad Pitt's best role? Not in a Oscar winning, single tear rolling down his cheek kind of way. But just in so far as "Have I ever liked Brad Pitt in something more than this?". Maybe Tyler Durden.

Tostito Buddy

Also, if you really want a fresh experience, don’t read anything about Charles Manson until after the movie.

Robert Boyd

Once Upon a Time in…Hollywood is exquisite. One of the best films to come out in recent years. It made me laugh, cry, and even one scene was scary as hell. You’ll know it when you experience it. Quentin is that kind of director.

Robert Boyd

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of my favorite movies to watch people react to just because of how nuanced it is, but also, just hilarious, probably Tarantino's funniest movie.

Jason Dolan

Yes Please. I mean, dito.

Moe howard

I wished I liked the Sopranos more than I do, but I'm excited for Once upon a time in Hollywood

Chris Bruneau

And after you see Top Gun and Rambo III, you can finally react to Hot Shots 1 & 2. Maybe even finish off the Naked Gun films for no reason.

Guston Zimasheen

I’m assuming you already recorded the reaction to Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, but if for some reason you haven’t, you should binge Karina Longworth’s ‘You Must Remember This’ podcast series on The Manson Family before you watch the movie. It will help add so much context to all the key players, and give you some background knowledge that Tarantino assumed you already have.

Jarrod Hornbeck

Niiiiiiice! Rambo III: like Rambo II, but not quite so grim! Honestly, I'm most stoked for the 2008 Rambo, which is in my opinion the best of the series. (And, yes, easily the most grim.)

Steven Montano

YES! Keep those Sopranos coming! So far as feature film, I really, really hope you will dig into most everything the Coen brothers have done. If you haven’t watched it yet, ‘Blood Simple’ is hard to beat, and it was their FIRST film. One of the best first efforts in directorial history. Not to mention, it’s Frances McDormand’s debut performance.

David Wilkins

Soprano, LaRusso, Tarantino, and Stallone. The greatest Italian-American lineup in Patreon history!

Future Boy

Ahh yes, 'Rambo III' or 'How we kinda helped create Al Qaeda'.

Jeffrey Miller

I'm glad y'all are going all the way with "Rambo" (although I think the "Rocky" franchise is infinitely superior). And the final "Rambo" film (supposedly) is excellent. Anyway, there are certain similarities in the historical/cultural eras the movies represent. "Rocky IV" and "Rambo III" were both made during the late 80s, and that's the era in which the stories unfold. Rambo's task in "III" is very ironic, to say the least!

William 1611

You just can't get enough Sopranos can you? :)

David Crabtree

Sounds like a Great week !! Rambo 3 is good, not the best Rambo but nice to watch !!! Hope you do "Over the Top " after the Rambo Series, you will love it

Florian Meier

I’ve been waiting for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood since you started doing the Tarantino stuff, looking forward to it!

Jim Johnson

Rambo III is not the best Rambo but these 3 final Rambo are going to give you a sense of who he is and what he fights for after the war. And yes after this they get far more brutal.

Anakin Starkiller

Episode 5 of Cobra Kai is probably one of my favorite episodes
