The greatest potential for Isekai (unless it is something else, hiding behind isekai formula) is the contrast between our world and another, bringing knowledge and physical objects between worlds. Maybe getting experience and friends in another world, then going back to fix your life or solve other problems in the "real world". These days they are usually not making just "isekai", but rather its subgenre: "white truck isekai". Whose characters are irreversibly removed from the original world and typically don't even bring anything from it besides mental trauma.

The lack of hope is, in my biased opinion, a constant on our times, and I think that's wrong because I, having lived more than 4 decades, am sure that things are measurably better in many aspects than 30 years ago. The world, our world, is a incredibly based place that is worth of fighting and live for, it is a place I would totally love to get back, but those Isekais, along with a lot of other things in media, seem to want us to forget it.

But later it turned into many hours of observing somebody subjected to psychological torture, essentially a snuff film. Not a fan. Not a fan of cult propaganda undertones too. And, the last season is, as far as I'm concerned, content free. Just several hours of gruesome combat that goes nowhere. Weak.

Beyond that, it's all up to personal tastes. And if it satisfies your personal kink, you can even forgive crappy animation. People have different level of tolerance for "questionable" themes, overused cliche or to cult propaganda. Some things may be dumb, but can be seen as a satire by someone.. Some references can only be understood by a few.. For me, there are anime whose quality I can certainly acknowledge, but still somewhat dislike for ideological reasons. Frieren, Re:Zero, Tanya etc.
