He's a seasoned SF guy and most of the guys he's up against are either amateurs or haven't had the level of experience that he's had (probably). Probably one of the toughest things was in this episode, and it could be argued that he was extremely lucky because he went in the building by himself. But he had the tech. But when he was on the run when they're like "OK so we'll be back on when it stops raining" it's like "That's not a problem for a SEAL." :)

2022-08-26 17:27:39 +0000 UTCMy guess is they will continue to Ark from their tv show drawing from the books. The Reacher tv series did a good job also adapting from the book. The real changes in the Terminal List were from being unable to go from California to Mexico, Florida, New Hampshire and New York which would be cost prohibitive. The villains from the book were the Hartleys which were portrayed as a Bill and Hillary couple I believe Amazon redid the dynamics to be politically friendly.

Maybe it's because of some of the real life SEALs and military guys that I know of that have been doing the kind of stuff you see in this show for the military, CIA, etc. for upwards of 15-20 years. If someone's doing pretty much stuff like this with Special Ops teams for decades and they're still alive or haven't really gotten badly hurt, there has to be a very high level of skill there. Obviously there's probably some luck to it, but just like Harry told Jack in Speed, "Luck runs out, sooner or later." All the people in the show are fictitious obviously but from what I understand about law enforcement they don't get anywhere near as much training as they should, simply because the departments can't afford it / don't get the funding. So you match up guys like this against people like Reece who've been winning at warfare for like 20 years it's not a reach to think that someone like Reece could dominate these guys the way he does in the show. Rambo was Rambo but this is written by someone who was actually a Navy SEAL.
