Think they already watched The Fly. But there are so many other David Cronenberg classics: The Brood, Scanners, The Dead Zone.
Neal Romanek
2022-09-23 11:20:45 +0000 UTCToo late for the debate, but I think The Fly should have been there :)
Olivier Fortier
2022-09-17 02:58:02 +0000 UTCThe idea was to give it a gritty, documentary camera look.
Neal Romanek
2022-09-06 11:42:46 +0000 UTCFor me FRANKENSTEIN is a really boring movie about a wedding combined with some of the greatest shots ever put on film.
Neal Romanek
2022-09-01 14:32:16 +0000 UTCDaniel's reaction, "F*** this movie", is the perfect review of Hereditary.
Neal Romanek
2022-09-01 14:30:54 +0000 UTCThe Witch is one of my favorite films of the past few years. So beautifully done and so creepy.
Neal Romanek
2022-09-01 14:28:55 +0000 UTCYep, definitely. George Romero defined how horror was done for a whole generation. A great, unseen movie of his is MARTIN, kind of an indy, grunge vampire movie.
Neal Romanek
2022-09-01 14:27:55 +0000 UTCThere’s not stinker in that list. I sure hope you’ll eventually watch them all.
Robert Nichols
2022-08-30 18:30:17 +0000 UTCThe Crow and V for Vedetta are the best comic book movies... The choice is CLEAR
Byron Easley
2022-08-30 18:20:04 +0000 UTCIf 28 Days Later wins, just bare in mind it was shot on DV camcorder. Digital cinema was still in its infancy in 2002 and the filmmakers chose to go cheap for practical & budgetary reasons
Odd Thomas
2022-08-28 16:13:31 +0000 UTCAlso House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects are well worth seeing for an insane gritty take on 70's horror movies.
Neal Romanek
2022-08-28 15:32:54 +0000 UTCLook at some of the David Cronenberg classics too - Scanners, The Brood, Dead Ringers, Videodrome,
Neal Romanek
2022-08-28 15:31:40 +0000 UTCIf you guys get around to watching “The Crow”, would love to see you do “Rapid Fire” with Brandon Lee also. Those are his best 2 movies.
Tommy Richards
2022-08-26 11:36:08 +0000 UTCGood suggestion too "Black Sheep" (2006). NZ horror/comedy. jk
Guston Zimasheen
2022-08-26 07:38:41 +0000 UTCMust see Night of the living dead AND rosemary's baby to connect the dots imo between the truth and lies were told. Great reaction guys👍.
MARCO FALZONE
2022-08-25 15:26:52 +0000 UTCDid you forget the killer silver spheres? Also that bug monster was fackin creepy The portal room was pretty cool Angus Scrimm makes a good villain as The Tall Man And that's just the first one!
mikethemotormouth
2022-08-24 13:13:32 +0000 UTCbest thing in that movie was the hemi-cuda!!!!
Chris Bruneau
2022-08-24 13:03:37 +0000 UTCDespite what wins, I believe Night of the Living Dead, and Carrie are must watch movies for this genre.
Vwlss Nvwls
2022-08-24 05:47:43 +0000 UTCMe feeling like the black sheep knowing that my favorite horror movie franchise, Phantasm, is never going to see the light of day here 😮💨😔
mikethemotormouth
2022-08-24 04:05:17 +0000 UTCIs probably the same reason they chose to watch John Carpenter's version of "The Thing from Another World". Am sure sooner or later they'll get to every single movie recommendation, even if it isn't for the channel.
Guston Zimasheen
2022-08-24 03:55:03 +0000 UTCHorror movie suggestion: "Near Dark". Vampire movie with the cast from Aliens. Bill Paxton (Hudson), Lance Henriksen (Bishop), Jenette Goldstein (Vasquez). If you thought Bill Paxton was over the top in aliens you'll love this.
Ed R
2022-08-24 02:51:58 +0000 UTCYeah its supernatural and takes place over Halloween, but not really horror.
Ed R
2022-08-24 02:36:37 +0000 UTCoh man, there are so many good ones on here. You guys should do like a pick top 2 or 3 on this one for October.
Ed R
2022-08-24 02:35:36 +0000 UTCSerpent and the Rainbow ❤️❤️☠️☠️
Webwyrm
2022-08-24 00:35:50 +0000 UTCThe Crow is cool, but it's more of an emo/goth comic book brought to life. (Also, notorious for the star, Brandon Lee, dying while filming.) It has a fantastic 90's rock soundtrack that is deeply engrained in my memories, making it very specific to the time (not in a bad way). But it's not really a horror movie. (I just don't want you to have the wrong expectations.)
WastedPo
2022-08-23 23:38:44 +0000 UTCSad to see John Carpenters "In the Mouth of Madness" down there. I think it's his best horror film after "The Thing" (yes, BEFORE "Halloween", imho). It is so delightfully Lovecraftian and I love the ending...
olly.enn
2022-08-23 23:19:56 +0000 UTC''Last Night In Soho'' (2021) Edgar Wright Film , personally I think its Honestly is a wonderful film, a change of pace, magical in its own way. Hope you guys get to react to it one day :)
Anthony
2022-08-23 22:26:36 +0000 UTCi think you told me that before. my memory has aged poorly.
YoureMrLebowski
2022-08-23 22:13:54 +0000 UTCIt Follows (2015) give this some love if you agree
YoureMrLebowski
2022-08-23 22:12:00 +0000 UTCRapid Fire definity and i will do you another one that people forget which is Showdown in Little Tokyo with Dolf Lundgren. Thats a hidden gem!!!
Demos Samolis
2022-08-23 19:23:51 +0000 UTCI agree about The Crow. It deserves a watch, "For Brandon". (Lee that is! Not the other guy. Lol) But if you want to see his martial arts skills in action, you wont find it here. For a fine display of what Brandon learned from his father, I suggest Rapid Fire - 1992. Again, you'll thank me later. Lol
Gerald Corona
2022-08-23 19:21:03 +0000 UTCWe've seen these! But totally would have made for fun reactions! -Sam
TBR Schmitt
2022-08-23 19:05:56 +0000 UTCWe have both seen The Exorcist, so we won't be able to do a reaction. Scarred Daniel for life haha -Sam

2022-08-23 19:04:50 +0000 UTCThe Crow was Brandon Lees last movie (son of Bruce Lee) and im sure you guys know that he died on the set of the movie just like Bruce Lee did. The movie was a huge blockbuster. Even if it doesnt win the poll please give that a chance or watch it on your own then. It was a fantastic film.
Demos Samolis
2022-08-23 16:55:34 +0000 UTCAgree 100 percent. The best one of the franchise!!!
Demos Samolis
2022-08-23 16:33:23 +0000 UTCThat was definitely creepy
Demos Samolis
2022-08-23 16:30:18 +0000 UTCHow is it The Crow is not winning this??? 28 days later was ok. There were way better zombie movies then that
Demos Samolis
2022-08-23 16:29:36 +0000 UTCYes, a spot on the next poll would be appropriate.
YoureMrLebowski
2022-08-23 16:28:13 +0000 UTCI'd recommend Jordan Peele's films Us and Get Out.
Murphy
2022-08-23 16:26:30 +0000 UTCYup, that and Prince Of Darkness are super underrated
Ken Veader
2022-08-23 16:20:28 +0000 UTCgreat 90's horror film

2022-08-23 14:49:29 +0000 UTCSince most of the suggestions here don’t go back much further than last week, heh, I’ll suggest 1931’s FRANKENSTEIN, which remains the best and most potent of what’s become known as the Universal Monsters canon. It’s a very dark movie, tonally and visually, and has some stark scenes of inhumanity and violence. It also has some German expressionist elements, if you look for that sort of thing, and is the only movie from that era I’d say retains the power to unnerve and disturb an audience. We hear FRANKENSTEIN rightly referred to as a “classic” all the time but it’s a legit masterpiece. Essential viewing.
Jason Chirevas
2022-08-23 14:33:18 +0000 UTCCondolences, Sam. 😔

2022-08-23 14:14:20 +0000 UTCAgreed! The novel scared the crap outta me!!!
Chris Bruneau
2022-08-23 14:05:37 +0000 UTCHahahahahaha. Hereditary got us both Sam. Midsommar is not even close to that intense. For sure you guys have to see "The Exorcist"
KevG
2022-08-23 13:58:24 +0000 UTC"The Changeling" (1980) "The Birds" (1963) "The Shining" (1997 TV miniseries) "The Stand" (1994 TV miniseries) "The Exorcist" (1973 Extended Director's Cut) "The Frighteners" (1996) And of course, there myriad monster / horror movies from the 50s and 60s. These include the "Big Bug", "Science Gone Wrong", "Classic Monsters" sub-genres. One of my favorite comedy / horror (with much, much more comedy than horror) "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" (1948). Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolf Man, and a special surprise guest.
Miles E Coburn
2022-08-23 13:40:43 +0000 UTCExcellent idea! And I really like the remake (especially the final scene), it's just that I think you should always start with the original.
David Martin
2022-08-23 13:02:55 +0000 UTCYeah I’m an idiot lol.

2022-08-23 12:59:03 +0000 UTCIt took a lot for me to put Midsommar on this poll after Hereditary haha -Sam

2022-08-23 12:58:10 +0000 UTCWe did! -Sam
TBR Schmitt
2022-08-23 12:57:28 +0000 UTCWell, at least the first two. Then for my money, first time reactors should segue into "The Return of the Living Dead" for the twist on the genre and the origin of the fast zombie sub-genre.
Thomas Yanez
2022-08-23 12:48:22 +0000 UTCHereditary is your guy's masterpiece. Therefore Midsommer must win. Even if it doesn't... do it anyway for the hardcore fans! Both movies are scary/wtf movies - but while Hereditary leans toward scary, Midsommer definitely leans toward wtf - so there's less chance of post viewing nightmares.
Sergeant Pepper
2022-08-23 12:46:47 +0000 UTCWhen you have a high profile classic/remake combo like this, I always wish the reactors would double-feature them.
Thomas Yanez
2022-08-23 12:46:08 +0000 UTCBig fan of your performance in Hereditary (2018), so Midsommar (2019) got a vote, but I'm hoping that 28 Days Later (2002) wins the poll.
YoureMrLebowski
2022-08-23 11:23:17 +0000 UTCI think they've done this already

2022-08-23 10:28:12 +0000 UTCEvent horizon always spooked the hell outta me. Sam Neil and Lawrence Fishbourne
Ancestor of Freedom
2022-08-23 09:57:13 +0000 UTCIn the Mouth of Madness and Prince of Darkness are both really good also. Very under appreciated IMHO.
Smooticus
2022-08-23 09:54:21 +0000 UTCI think the original trilogy should be watched first too. Then the remakes for Dawn of the Dead (2004) and Night of the Living Dead (1990) are both great and worth watching too.
Future Boy
2022-08-23 09:47:32 +0000 UTCyep great film
Nick Sneddon
2022-08-23 09:02:10 +0000 UTCAgreed – it’s a great remake
Nick Sneddon
2022-08-23 09:01:41 +0000 UTCOh man! I have been DYING for you to do "Carrie", "Rosemary's Baby" and "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers", those are going to be FANTASTIC reactions, guaranteed.
Toc
2022-08-23 08:57:49 +0000 UTCIt HAS the be The Omen! One of the creepiest films you’ll ever see The Witch is an absolutely fantastic film, however its not for everyone The Crow is a terrible film, cant believe people are voting for it
Nick Sneddon
2022-08-23 08:42:55 +0000 UTCAgreed! This is a little gem of a horror movie that often get overlooked.
Robin Cederholm
2022-08-23 08:28:55 +0000 UTCThis! You ought to watch all three of those and then go on to other zombie movies to really get into that sub genre with the "right" perspective. Dawn of the Dead 2004 for example is a great flick, but you should know the genre before watching it.
Robin Cederholm
2022-08-23 08:27:51 +0000 UTCGah, so many movies on this list I want you to react to! :O Picking one is hard...
Robin Cederholm
2022-08-23 08:26:05 +0000 UTCSaw (2004) and It (2017) are two more to add if you haven’t watched them.
Jeff Phillips
2022-08-23 08:04:25 +0000 UTCI also recommend Don't Look Now , Directed by Nicholas Roeg. I wouldn't call it horror exactly, more psychological suspense/mystery, with supernatural elements. Roeg has a great visual style to his movies . Great setting in Venice Italy and a definite 70s vibe
Samolina Pilchard
2022-08-23 07:55:08 +0000 UTCChild’s Play (1988) is great and you are introduced to Chucky! - can u add that one also?
Jeff Phillips
2022-08-23 07:54:16 +0000 UTCNightmare on elm st 3 Dream Warriors is the best of the series. Can u add that one?
Jeff Phillips
2022-08-23 07:52:59 +0000 UTCHave you already seen The Exorcist? It's curiously absent from this list of iconic horror movies. Definitely would recommend if you haven't seen it.
Samolina Pilchard
2022-08-23 07:39:33 +0000 UTCI would love to see the Kevin Bacon film Stir of Echoes on the list. One of the better horror films of the 90s. Very unique.
kbobravo
2022-08-23 07:27:45 +0000 UTCIn the Mouth of Madness is probably John Carpenter's most underrated film.
kbobravo
2022-08-23 07:26:19 +0000 UTC28 Days Later might win this, but Dawn Of The Dead as far as I know was THE BEST remake of George A. Romero’s.
platinum476
2022-08-23 07:13:19 +0000 UTCNot sure if you guys have seen it but could u pleasee add Final Destination (2000) to the next poll
Walter White
2022-08-23 06:27:00 +0000 UTCThe Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) is such a good horror film and incredibly underrated. I highly recommend it. I love horror and there is not a single movie that has ever scared me so I'm always looking for more, and while The Autopsy of Jane Doe didn't frighten me, it is very eerie and it kept me on the edge of my seat which was very refreshing for a change!
Domino
2022-08-23 06:19:16 +0000 UTCA case can be made for many movies that the remake is better in certain areas than the original. But that ignores the era the movie (or record) is from and the effect on the audience. King Kong scared the audience practically to death when it was released, but is "not scary" today. I think the original film or record should always be viewed first before going on to the remake(s). Just my opinion.
David Martin
2022-08-23 05:55:31 +0000 UTCI already told you guys. DO NOT watch Midsommar. It's a great movie, but it's insanely depressing. If you feel like you must watch it, make sure to watch the director's cut, it's 30 minutes longer, it expands the storyline.
Mike keith
2022-08-23 05:53:12 +0000 UTCThe 1978 version is fantastic, it's way scarier.
Mike keith
2022-08-23 05:50:26 +0000 UTCNight of the Living Dead (1968) , Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Day of the Dead (1985) are the original Zombie trilogy of George Romero and really what defined the genre. Definitely worth doing that trilogy before other zombie films
Ken Veader
2022-08-23 05:34:13 +0000 UTCWhy the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and not the original? Bad decision.
David Martin
2022-08-23 05:21:48 +0000 UTCAgreed night of the living dead is great
Richard
2022-08-23 05:14:55 +0000 UTCYa'll rock, seriously. This is the best community. It makes me so happy to see The Crow winning this poll. While I do wish that we were watching it on Halloween and not in August/September, I'm thrilled that it's leading the poll. :) This one's a long time childhood fave of mine. Yeah, I watched this as a kid once it was released on VHS, my mo bought it for me. This movie scared me and it thrilled me, as a boy. This came out in 1994, and I watched it probably in 1995 or 1996, so I was 7 or 8 years old at the time. Farrrr too young to watch this, but I did anyway and I enjoyed it. I hope that it actually wins and that we all get to watch TBR's reaction to it. :)
Logan Kerlee
2022-08-23 05:13:47 +0000 UTCAlso the Conjuring and Annabelle movies are a must see. Paranormal activity series is also good.
Aaron Barlow
2022-08-23 05:10:38 +0000 UTCPlease let the Crow win. Its such an under watched film. That, or the Omen.
Armchair Rizzard
2022-08-23 05:09:27 +0000 UTCThere are too many great movies here guys. The Omen is a must see classic, so is Pet Semetary and the Crow. The Witch is also amazing.
Aaron Barlow
2022-08-23 05:05:44 +0000 UTCI voted for five movies on this one but my favorite is certainly IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, which is the uncrowned gem of John Carpenter’s career. Saying that, the best movie on the poll is NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, which quite literally invented a subgenre and remains probably its best entry to this day.
Jason Chirevas
2022-08-23 05:04:22 +0000 UTCPet Semetary, hands down. Classic. Recommendations.. The Serpent and the Rainbow (1987) Silver Bullet (1985) Poltergeist 2 (1986) Pumpkinhead (1988) The Monster Squad (1987) Interview with A Vampire (1994) The Lost Boys (1987) Flatliners (1990)
