Hello friends,
I want to explain why I’ve been distant from the furry community and animation work.
Too Long; Didn't Read:
Animation hasn’t been paying my bills, so I’ve been working long hours doing Uber Eats food delivery for below minimum wage. It leaves me drained with little time or energy to animate. I want to keep creating for you, but I need to find a sustainable way forward.
Full:
Commissions don’t cover my living costs, so I turned to food delivery. While I’m grateful my car keeps me going, the work is exhausting, and even after cutting back expenses, debt still grows.
Animations take me days or weeks to complete, and at my current rates, I simply can’t afford to make them. But I want to keep creating for you, because it makes me happy to see you happy.
So I need your input:
Should I keep pushing for an animation job, even though my portfolio is mostly adult niche work?
Should I raise my commission prices significantly (e.g. +$1000) so even one animation a month helps me stay afloat?
Should I find a different day job outside of animation with fewer hours but better pay?
Do you know anyone who’s hiring animators and could see my work as an asset? Even 3d furry groups working on projects?
I truly enjoy making animations for you all, and I want to keep improving. Right now survival takes most of my day, but I’m thankful to still be here, healthy, and able to create when I can.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you for reading ❤️
