NXT Plans - August 27

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan following plans for tonight’s edition of NXT. The segments are in the order in which they were taped on August 20th.

**SPOILERS**

- Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee will make their No Mercy match official.

- Rosemary will be Kelani Jordan’s opponent.

- Fallon Henley suffered a busted nose during last week’s tapings, but finished her match. There was concern backstage for Henley, and she was rushed backstage after the match to get checked out. Fallon featured on an NXT house show over the weekend, but did not wrestle.

- The internal episode title for this week’s show is “Singing For Mercy”.

- Trick Williams will be made the special guest referee for Joe Hendry vs. Ethan Page at NXT No Mercy. We enquired if this will lead to a return of the ref cam with NXT sources, but we weren’t able to confirm if this would be the plan.

Jade Cargill

Fightful Select caught up with Fightful Gear of the Year Award Winner Jade Cargill ahead of her Bash In Berlin tag title match.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp began the interview by asking Jade where she gets inspiration for her gear. Jade said she is trying to bring fashion into the wrestling world. Jade mentioned that she wants to get people not into wrestling into the sport. Jade noted that even if you don’t like fashion, your girlfriend probably likes it, which will get her into wrestling. Jade said her job is to get the average person into wrestling and wanting to watch her. Jade mentions a lot goes into our [wrestler’s] looks.

Sean mentioned how we have seen wrestlers get to dress more like their personalities. He also asked if there were something she would like to do in a fashion sense within wrestling. Jade said she would love to do a SKIMS campaign. She mentioned that she played women’s basketball for the majority of her career. Cargill mentioned that she would like Kim Kardashian to be involved and noted that Kardashian sponsors the NBA and WNBA.

They would then talk about basketball. Sean asked if she had played any one-on-one basketball with any wrestlers. She said, not yet, because they don’t want this butt-whooping. Sean mentioned to Jade that Nia Jax said she could dunk on Omos. Jade said, “Nia couldn’t dunk on me. I can dunk on Nia Jax.”

Sean mentioned that she and Bianca Belair are teaming up now, but people talk about it being a dream WrestleMania match. Jade said, “We laugh about it, we talk about it. I promise you, it’s the topic of discussion almost every week.” She added that they are currently elevating the women’s tag team division.

In closing, Sean asked the former AEW Women’s Champion what her favorite movie was. Jade said she is a massive fan of Titanic. Her second choice is New Jack City.  

In closing, Sean asked if Rose [Kate Winslet’s character] was a heel. He believed there was enough room on the door for Jack. Jade agreed with him and agreed with him. She added that she would have made it work. Sean asked if Jade would have kept the heart necklace. She replied that she would have probably handed it down.
