UK Scene Update From AEW All In Weekend
Added 2024-08-27 17:12:07 +0000 UTCAEW All In 2024 once again returned to Wembley Stadium on Sunday, and there was talent from European Wrestling littered throughout the show and backstage. Fightful’s Corey Brennan has learned the following details about this past weekend’s shows.
RevPro were represented both on the show and as guests of AEW. Cameron Khai, TK Cooper, JJ Gale and Zozaya all were security extras while Chuck Mambo serving as the camera man wiped out by Will Ospreay with a hidden blade. Ricky Knight Jr. featured as part of Saraya’s segment.
Amira, Michael Oku and RevPro owner Andy Quildan were invited by AEW to the event.
Other independent promotions were also represented - with Rhio, Lizzy Evo and Mercedes Blaze all featuring in Saraya’s Zero Hour segment. Man Like DeReiss, Fabio, Martin Steers, Kuro, Adam Maxted, Jordan Saeed, The Brothers Awe and Damian Corvin also featured on the show as extras.
Aigle Blanc was originally supposed to join fellow French wrestler Kuro, but was unable to make it in the end.
We are told several other UK wrestlers enquired about extra work, but were not brought in.
RevPro sources confirmed to us that the attendance for their 12th Anniversary show was 3927 fans. RIOT and Progress both sold out their respective shows.
Spirits were high after RevPro from those we spoke to, with several sources pointing to the drawing power of two British wrestlers main eventing.
Saraya’s RevPro appearance wasn’t planned in advance, and was present to support Ricky Knight Jr. when the idea of her being involved in Ricky’s entrance was suggested.
Will Ospreay was unsurprisingly backstage at RevPro, and produced the Cut Throat Collective’s No DQ match vs Team RevPro.
Grado’s appearance on the RevPro pre-show was put together last week, and was largely used to let fans know his one man show would not begin until RevPro ended.
Those we spoke to in Progress praised Tom Campbell for trying to make it through their show on Monday with his voice having gone. Rufus Hound was alerted he’d be taking over during Rhio vs Session Moth Martina. Hound was also praised for taking the change in stride.
Cara Noir’s return to Progress was kept extremely close to the vest. One source compared the secrecy to that of WWE prior to a return or debut.
Sunshine Machine and Zozaya’s surprise additions to matches at Progress on Monday were added on Sunday and earlier on Monday respectively, and Progress sources tell Brennan the changes were made for “an extra gift for the big show.” and in Zozaya’s case “too good of an opportunity to pass up” as Zozaya was attending the show as a viewer.
The bottom rope failed multiple times at Progress, with sources praising how talent adapted to the failure. Kid Lykos was praised for his help with fixing the issue.
To add some clarity to rumors circulating - AEW have not yet offered a deal to Michael Oku and Amira.
Several talent in town for All in attended Progress on Monday, including Nick Wayne.
Zozaya was widely praised for his performances over the weekend, particularly in RevPro. One source close to Zozaya claimed to Brennan that AEW are paying close attention to the Spanish star.
PW Ceasefire notes:
Everybody on the show was offered wages, and almost all talent donated either all or at least half to the UNICEF total.
Hustle Wrestling donated the ring hire completely for free to raise more money for UNICEF.
Jeremy Corbyn’s press office congratulated the promoters on the news of the show the week prior.

2024-08-27 20:26:09 +0000 UTCSo we went from "Michael Oku and Amira are joining AEW" to "AEW hasn't even offered a deal to Michael Oku and Amira". So much for that

2024-08-27 20:22:41 +0000 UTCI've only seen Zozaya twice in RevPro - Summer Sizzler and the Anniversary show this weekend - and was quite impressed with how good he is for a guy who didn't start committing to wrestling full time until late last year.
