More on Bryan Danielson's AEW Title win

Fightful had confirmed the word that Danielson had often and actively pushed against winning championships in AEW. However, ultimately, he gave in, and we’re told that AEW founder Tony Khan was adamant that Danielson become AEW Champion at some point. Specifically, we’re told Khan wanted the closing moment of AEW All In with Danielson celebrating as champion.
Those that we spoke with immediately after the show claimed that the decision for Danielson vs. Swerve to main event All In and for Danielson to main event was made “at least by April.” Swerve vs. Ospreay as many had theorized, hadn’t been planned, with one source noting that “Ospreay will have chances to main event Wembley for years to come.”
There were jokes backstage of a “reverse Montreal screwjob” to ensure that Danielson actually won the match. As we’d reported last night, Danielson’s in-ring mortality so to speak came into focus way more over the last couple of months, as he worked very banged up on the road to AEW All In.
