These awards are a full-on fan vote, to reflect the “best of” 2022 per our great audience. We look to keep these as positive as possible, and reflect the highlights of a very newsworthy year.

If you are just looking for a character, then Smart Mark Sterling has done more this year than any of the other contenders. What other managers have taken the bumps Mark Sterling has. The only ones who have truly contributed to their brands creatively were Heyman, Sonjay Dutt, Alex and Regal, in my opinion. Unfortunately, Sonjay has quite a bit of "go away" heat based on how obnoxious his on screen character is presented for me.

I can easily imagine the conversation for bringing back Pentagon Dark being like Penta: Hey, Alex, I'm bringing back Pentagon Dark, you think you can dress up as a dark priest? Alex: Dude, I already ordered the green face paint to make my face look demonic. Penta: You don't have to-- Alex: I heard a preview of what Mikey's doing for your music, I'll even chant along to it. Penta: Penta: Eh, screw it, go as all out as you want with this.
