The Wrestling Perspective Podcast is now part of Fightful! Each week, The Wrestling Perspective is hosted by Lars Frederiksen of the Punk Rock Band "Rancid" and Dennis Farrell.

Their first guest is none other than UFC and IMPACT Wrestling Hall-of-Fame Member Ken Shamrock.

Ken Shamrock spoke to Fightful’s Lars Frederiksen and Dennis Farrell of The Wrestling Perspective Podcast, and they talked about various topics.

Shamrock would mention how he believed the Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 13 helped turn the tide for the WWE in the Monday Night Wars. He also said that was the match that would lead to the Attitude Era being born. Ken talked about his days training in Calgary with Bret Hart, and meeting with Stu Hart.

Shamrock would speak about his early days in the Carolina Territories when he wrestled under the name Vince Torelli, and about his relationship with the Malenko Family. He said he doesn't get to talk to Dean as much because of the health issues Dean is going through. However, he stays in contact with his Dean's brother Joe.

Shamrock would tell Dennis and Lars on what led him to leave Pro Wrestling, enter MMA, and eventually return to Pro Wrestling. Ken mentioned he always loved wrestling, but when he went to Japan to wrestle, that led to him down a path to shootfighting and then onto Pancrase before going to the WWE.

Ken would also tell Fightful, how he got The Rock involved in his induction into the IMPACT Hall of Fame by contacting The Rock himself instead of having it go through multiple channels.

Shamrock also would say why he is a candidate for the WWE Hall of Fame. He listed some of his accomplishments, and included an interesting one. Before he joined the WWE, the tap out did not happen for the most part.
