When Forbidden Door replacement wrestler was determined, more

Clark Connors is back from injury.

Fightful spoke with the NJPW star, who was open about sustaining a back injury this summer while he was lifting. He said that he wanted to jump back into the fire, which is why he's facing Minoru Suzuki at NJPW's New York City show on October 28.

Connors was a late addition to Forbidden Door when Tomohiro Ishii was injured. He'd lost to Ishii in a tourney match, however NJPW found out the Thursday prior that Ishii was out. They told him on Friday, about 15-30 minutes before the public announcement. He said there wasn't a lot of time to even think about it, he was just asked, accepted, and had to get to America.

His longtime friend and tag partner Karl Fredericks left NJPW, and Clark Connors said that he'll support Karl in whatever he does. He mentioned that Karl is trying a lot of things out and is a very talented DJ.

We asked him about his NJPW deal, and he wouldn't provide specifics but said "we'll see in 2023." Above all, he noted he's loyal to New Japan Pro Wrestling and loves it there, but is also a business man and will do what's best for him.

Connors says that of everyone he's wrestled, Tomoaki Honma hit him the hardest. He said it almost knocked his eye loose.
