[Poll] 18th Century AU
Added 2025-09-30 07:00:08 +0000 UTCThese past few days I haven’t had the chance to draw much so my mind has gone wild with ideas. It’s been a while I had an 18th century AU in mind for Joey and Brian but I can’t manage to decide what to do.
I have two main ideas, one being the setting of the war of the Spanish succession in the early 1700s the other being in Scotland around the Jacobite rising, 1740s.
One thing I have clear is that I want Joey to be 100% Catalan and be called Fina shorter from Josefina and Brian being obviously Scottish. Joey only speaking Catalan and Brian only speaking English and Scots.
It’s not like I want a full storyline, it’s just to play with the setting and the situation of how they are going to connect without speaking the other’s language.
The first setting, the war of the Spanish succession would be set in Catalonia and Brian would be a british soldier sent to fight the Spanish and French. My concern with this one, tho I know there was a Scottish Regiment, is that I feel it like treason to dress Brian in a red coat… unless I make him half-English half-Scottish… but what I like from this setting is that’s Joey’s territory.
For the second setting, I really don’t know much about the Jacobite rising aside from what I saw in Outlander but the strong point is Brian in a kilt. Tho I have no reason for Joey being in Scotland, maybe exile or she just immigrate there with her family.
But anyway it would be to draw cute interaction and NSFW set in a different era for once but because I can’t decide myself I ask you, which of the two settings do you prefer or like to see. In all honestly, it’s more about Brian’s outfit than anything else, because I don’t think Joey’s outfit would change much in these 40 years gap.
[Small Edit] I’m investigating about the Scottish Regiment during the war of the Spanish succession, I’m having troubles finding the uniforms but it might be possible that they were wearing kilts, so in both scenarios we would have Brian in a kilt.
