On the night of the 14th April 1912 at 23:40, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg, condemning everyone aboard.
Third-class families were at the stern of the ship, hardly noticing the collision. At around 23:46, the RMS Titanic stopped its engines for the last time. Accustomed to the engines' roar, Brian immediately realised that they had stopped. He got up from his bunk and went outside the corridor to see if anyone was roaming around who had also noticed, but the aisles were empty; at that time, everyone was sleeping.
He tried to brush it off, but his worry increased, and he decided to listen to his instincts. He woke up Joey and told her to get ready, that something was off and they had better dress themselves in warm clothes, take Alba and go up on the main deck.
