More on MJF's absence, WBD happy he's back
Added 2022-09-28 22:46:38 +0000 UTCMJF is back in AEW, after several months away, and he's doing media talking about how he spent his time.
During the interviews, he noted that he almost never left his house for three months, which is actually mostly true from what Fightful has learned. Throughout the process, MJF did not have contact with most people, including many close friends until shortly before his appearance. As All Out grew closer, several members of the roster learned that he'd be the Joker.
After the promo in Los Angeles, MJF stayed in town to participate in some meetings for Hollywood related projects. Aside from that, he kept a low profile, even though he was seen at Disney once this Summer and we've also further confirmed that he did film something with Impractical Jokers throughout the summer. MJF steered clear of social media, or even going out in public much.
We haven't learned if MJF actually got a new contract, an extension, or an amendment to his deal, but it was heavily implied to us by AEW sources that he's in a much more favorable situation financially. MJF is at least telling people that ask him that he hasn't signed an extension, but that's hardly gospel at this point. Fightful's Will Washington has also learned that contacts within Warner Bros. Discovery that several there were happy that MJF returned. When we followed up about that, one content pointed to MJF being a consistent ratings success for the brand.

They don't do that for ANYONE else, just Jericho." I'm pretty sure that's TK, not Jericho. Definitely read some interviews where Jericho has said that he pitched having a different entrance since JAS started but TK shot it down wanting to keep the Judas sing-along. I'm no Jericho fan these days, but I think there's plenty to criticize him for without inventing reasons.

I absolutely loved his first year as Le Champion and then as The Demo God, but once him and MJF crossed paths, everything about Jericho has been so long, drawn out and WRONG. They did Blood & Guts, but it wasn’t the blowoff because they had to add the stupid group split up stipulation. And than we barely even saw the Pinnacle together again after that, and they weren’t even affected by the stipulation. And than the Inner Circle split up not that long afterwards, making that whole story pointless. Wizard Jericho has had multiple enjoyable and fun moments, but overall I have absolutely 0 enthusiasm or care for anything involving Jericho.

Goodness gracious. He must be WAY more involved in the writing and the booking than we all think. This is Jericho overload, and I don't even dislike him. They don't do that for ANYONE else, just Jericho. That, combined with this episode, feels like he's getting pretty damn big for his own britches. We don't need to see him this much.

The stuff about him staying in LA for a few days after the pipe bomb, the news about him staying completely silent and mostly inside his own home, and the Impractical Jokers thing are all things we've known for months, right? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or overlooking anything here.
