Details on today's AEW meeting

Some things will be addressed today in Cleveland.

Fighful Select has learned that there is a mandatory talent meeting today at the All Elite Wrestling Dynamite tapings. We're told Tony Khan will be present, but not many details are known beyond that. The talent we've heard from expect it to address some of the rumors of unrest, contract inquiries, and personal issues, as well as those things being leaked.

Though the meeting is for talent, there are plenty of talent who weren't brought in for this set of tapings and won't be at the show.

UPDATE: In an update, Fightful Select has learned some details about the talent meeting.

We were told the meeting took place between 3 and 4 PM eastern, and that Tony Khan was "fired up" for it. Several topics were tackled, including working as a team, the lines of communication, and who the talent can talk to if they have concerns. The access to Tony Khan was also addressed, as the rumors of miscommunication and lack of access to him had emerged. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were said to have made it clear that their door is always open, and that they can be reached for concerns as well. Talent were briefed via email recently about several of the new coaches and talent relations promotions.

In addition, we've learned that Chris Jericho and Tony Schiavone spoke at the meeting. Schiavone has been tasked with some additional talent relations roles.

We've also heard that the contract tampering an inquiry rumors were addressed, and it was noted that AEW's Chief Legal Officer sent a message/e-mail to WWE -- specifically Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon -- about contract tampering allegations.

We'll work to find out more from the meeting

I’d be the first one to jump on WWE for contract tampering, especially considering all the shady shit they’ve done over the years, but if they just contacted an AEW talent to ask if they were under contract or the duration of their contract, I don’t believe that would technically be tampering. As I understand it, they would need to make them an offer of some kind or at least hint at such, for it to constitute tampering. Of course, we don’t know the exact conversation the WWE rep had with the wrestler, so it’s possible they said something that crosses the line into tampering or at least skirts that line. Seems likely to me that TK just had his lawyer call them to tell them to direct any contract inquiries to AEW to avoid any future tampering disputes, or something like that.

No they don’t. The majority of TV talent are under contract.

Is it really contract tampering when wrestlers in AEW deals let them work other promotions that have TV deals, and a good majority of them have pay per appearance deals rather than actual contracts
