Brian disappeared for several months, maybe even half a year not contacting Joey until the very end. Joey thought he was dead and meanwhile she found herself alone and pregnant. Terrified she went back to her sister and tried to move on but deep down she hold onto the hope of seeing him again once more.
Am I projecting? Yes, I totally am. Getting things out of my chest that sadly won't reach the person they need to reach so I'll keep throwing them into the void until I finally can really move on.
