I keep thinking about their story, I want to do something wholesome and angsty and slow-burn. More like in a way they didn't expect to fall for each other. He is there watching over her because it's his job and she just gets used to his company.
I'm just doubting about her being married or widowed.
In the married scenario ofc, it would be a loveless marriage bc that's how it was at that time, I'm just doubting if going for the cliché of the husband being cruel to her or just he is not that bad but there's nothing between them feelings wise.
Maybe he will be a bit pissed at her bc there's still no heir or a girl after some years of marriage, and ofc the blame was always on the woman and not the man, good lord, who could expect the man's machinery not working properly, right? Blasphemy! Which is what I could play with the idea of her getting pregnant with Guerau's child... kinda like it but I don't want my character to go through a pregnancy in that time lol.
And no idea about the widowed scenario.
So basically, that's how I usually work a story, I try to evaluate all possibles ideas and see what I like the best to go on with. I don't plan on doing a big story I just want something to entertain me a bit especially bc I know nothing about the Medieval era... but you never know...
At the same time, even if I decide on something it can always change if I see it doesn't make sense or I like something else better later.
I don't want to deal with motherhood but I'm going to confess that idea is kinda tempting. Then Guerau will have to make a choice, to elope with Sibil·la and both be outlaws for the rest of their days or to stay silent about his treason to his lord and keep protecting Sibil·la and their child in the shadow.
