Adam Cole On Leaving WWE, Triple H, Undisputed Era To AEW

Fightful spoke to Adam Cole for a new interview ahead of his title match with Hangman Page on Rampage.

Cole started by saying that he was happy that Triple H had recovered, and was so lucky to learn from him, and called him a mentor. He said that he admires Triple H and thinks the world of him.

He told us that it was important for him to leave WWE on good terms, not just because it was WWE, but because he thinks it's the right way to go out anywhere. He said it was a no brainer to do things the right way in leaving WWE because he admired so many people there and felt like he owed them so much.

He said that WWE did have a conversation with him about Twitch, but he made his case and said that he wasn't using his WWE name, using WWE merch, and not doing anything offensive on his streams. He also said that he avoided cursing on his streams because he didn't want a 7-year old WWE or AEW fan to see that side of things when just trying to watch gaming content. WWE let the situation go after he made his case.

Cole said that he didn't necessarily recruit Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, and says that he didn't approach AEW about hiring them. Instead, he says that they ended up there on their own. He did tell them he was enjoying his time in AEW there, but didn't actively recruit them.
