News on matches cut for time and finishes changed on WrestleMania
Added 2022-04-03 19:24:51 +0000 UTCWrestleMania Night 1 received a ton of positive reception online, but a couple of matches were cut or cut for time.
The night's opening match between the Usos and Rick Boogs & Shinsuke Nakamura saw the finish change due to Rick Boogs' unfortunate leg injury that eliminated him from competing in the match. We're told that the finish was set to be different, but that the Usos were always planned to win. The match was scheduled to go 15 minutes with entrances, which was one of the shortest matches on the show, but ended up actually being the shortest.
The planned shortest match was actually New Day vs. Ridge Holland and Sheamus. Originally this was supposed to be a six-man tag until Big E's injury, and was adjusted accordingly. This match was always expected to be the "flex" match, that could be moved if time was short. However, we're told that at least one person involved with the match appeared to be very upset about it as they were only budgeted for ten minutes with entrances as is. The match now takes place on night 2.
Those we spoke to didn't believe Big E would be able to travel into town for WrestleMania.

WWE logic at play! They had 17 minutes of filler promos/video packages but couldn’t fit in a 10 minute match?!?! I call BS!
