- Hornswoggle was in the Greatest Royal Rumble, and they were going to have a dedicated match with Robbie Araujo. They flew the latter over to Saudi Arabia and didn't use him.
- Several wrestlers confirmed they heard that Yokozuna was requested for the Greatest Royal Rumble, which is why Hiroki Sumi was in the match.
- Jeff Jarrett learned nine days before his Royal Rumble return that it was going to happen.
- Dakota Kai, Adam Cole, Chelsea Green all learned about their Royal Rumble debuts the day before they were to happen. Kai got a little more notice for the 2021 Royal Rumble match.
- Mark Carrano sent Maria a text to ask if she could appear in it. The NXT women were pulled into Matt Bloom's office in 2020 the day after filming Worlds Collide and told they'd be in the match. Triple H let Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne know they'd be in the match in 2019, and told Adam Cole the night before, following his Takeover match.
- Bushwhackers Luke and Butch got paid the exact same amount for appearing in the Royal Rumble in 1991, where Luke lasted a few seconds and Butch went ten minutes.
- The Rumble match is generally broken up into sections and produced that way. TJ Wilson helps a lot with the women's Royal Rumbles a lot these days. Jamie Noble and Michael Hayes were names that came up a lot with the men's.
- Alberto Del Rio wasn't given any advance notice for the Ricardo Rodriguez spot emulating him, and actually wasn't even watching the show itself. He found out via a Vince McMahon text during the show and decided to tune in.
- The gear Jeff Jarrett wore for his return gear was the original Double J gear, not new stuff that was made.
- A lot of the cable televised mini-Rumbles were far less produced and more fly by the seat of their pants.
