Major update on Alex Hammerstone-MLW (with updated details)

MLW Champion Alex Hammerstone has signed an extension with MLW, Hammerstone confirmed to Fightful on Monday. Hammerstone was reaching the end of a multi-year contract that he'd signed with the company in 2019, before he'd become world champion. Hammerstone confirmed to Fightful that the extension was another multi-year one, taking him at the very least until the end of 2023 with the company.
Hammerstone cited to us the schedule of MLW as being a very attractive point, and MLW had approached him a while back about re-signing. He hadn't hit a free agency period and hadn't talked to other companies before extending the deal. He'll still be able to work indies, but the deal prohibits nationally televised companies.
The 30-year old Hammerstone has remained undefeated in MLW since late 2019. In October, Hammerstone won the World Title, after a record setting MLW National Openweight Title reign. In the past, Hammerstone has had tryouts with WWE, appeared on IMPACT Wrestling Xplosion in 2018 before he signed with MLW.
