Mustafa Ali update
Added 2021-12-19 21:45:14 +0000 UTCMany fans were expecting and subsequently disappointed to not see Mustafa Ali in front of his hometown crowd of Chicago for Smackdown Friday.
Not only was Mustafa Ali not on this past week's show, he wasn't filmed for anything for the Christmas Eve edition and wasn't physically at the show. We're told that while he asked off for a couple of weeks for paternity leave, that amount of time had already passed and it appears that there just wasn't anything planned for him for the Chicago shows. We've also learned that WWE sent Ali home early for paternity leave, and he's not been on the road since before Survivor Series.

2021-12-20 14:54:36 +0000 UTCAt this point I can’t imagine risking taking any time off if I’m in WWE for anything minor. Too many times a month off turns into 6-8 months because they can’t be bothered to remember who is available to them unless they are actively on TV.
