More on IMPACT wrestler getting their release
Added 2021-10-12 18:30:40 +0000 UTCIMPACT Wrestling has released Acey Romero, as Jon Alba of AdFreeShows reported on Tuesday.
Fightful reported over the summer that Romero asked for his release after not being used for months, and was able to finally land his release six weeks later. We're told that the paperwork associated took several weeks to finalize, but once the ball got rolling things went smoothly.
We've confirmed that Romero does not have a no-compete tied to his release, and as Alba noted, he can work for any promotion. Romero was on a per-appearance deal with IMPACT, and since he'd not been used, had not been paid since April.
Romero's tag team partner Larry D remains under contract with IMPACT, and has not been used, either.

Unique talent. Wish Impact presented him differently.

2021-10-13 12:59:19 +0000 UTCA real bummer, honestly. I was at Bound for Glory back in 2019 when he took one of the sickest bumps I've ever seen in the X-Division title ladder match. And I always found him fun in Wrestle House.
