Major optimism backstage after WWE MSG show
Added 2021-09-11 13:17:00 +0000 UTCWWE hit a home run in Madison Square Garden, and those we spoke to immediately after the event seemed to think so, too.
With the exception of the cut segments, WWE sources in contact with Fightful seemed unanimously optimistic following the show, a stark contrast to some of the demeanors we usually experience in following up on the company's TV events. One WWE source near creative said that they fully believe the company is capable of putting on these kinds of shows regularly, it's just a matter of getting through to those of influence that this is the type of event that the audience wants to see regularly.
Vince McMahon was at the show, as was Stephanie McMahon. We're told Gorilla Position was busy during and ahead of the MSG show. There was also a screening of the company's 9/11 documentary.

As good as that show was. Having no women’s match is criminal. They gotta do better.

2021-09-11 23:54:16 +0000 UTCIt was a great show. I watch all shows every week (usually after the fact so I can fast forward, it's easy in NZ as the shows run from 12pm-2/3pm) And most shows are mediocre but I watch because every now and then something great happens. It's happening way more often since AEW joined, but I still enjoy WWE immensely too, especially that MSG SD, Hope they can carry the momentum forward into Raw and up until Extreme rules.

2021-09-11 20:26:56 +0000 UTCIf it were any place other than MSG, they probably wouldn't have tried so hard. Hell, even then, this happens almost too often to predict. They put on a great show to get people watching, and then they don't even care to try for the next 8 months at the least. Rinse and repeat.

2021-09-11 16:12:10 +0000 UTCThey have a ton of incredibly talented performers. They’ve always had the ability to put on a killer show. However they also have the ability to string together five throwaway shows in a row

2021-09-11 15:53:58 +0000 UTCI feel like people are overreacting, the first hour was bland except for the first promo. The main event ended in a fuck finish because, of course it did. It was a good show but eh.

2021-09-11 15:52:42 +0000 UTCAll of their issues are self inflicted. They have the pieces there to put out great content, just need to get out of their own way. It's sad when this report is essentially "company insiders excited company points gun somewhere other than at their own foot"

2021-09-11 14:45:56 +0000 UTCThey have shown that they are capable of putting on good shows. That happens occasionally. They just seem to be incapable of doing it on a consistent basis.

2021-09-11 13:55:23 +0000 UTCIt was a great show which is maddening because everyone knows they can do it if they try. I hope they continue to put on great shows but I won't hold my breath

2021-09-11 13:51:15 +0000 UTCThe fed has the talent on both shows to put on solid shows on most nights. It'll have to be more than one week for me to think they've changed their approach. With that said, the talent should be very proud of last night's show. Good stuff from top to bottom.

2021-09-11 13:50:22 +0000 UTCDoesnt mean anything tbh, this happens after every good WWE show a handful of times a year, then they return to mediocrity for the rest of it.
