Details on 2020 WWE Title program that fell through
Added 2021-08-27 19:20:22 +0000 UTCIt was confirmed to Fightful that Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal was a plan for a WWE Title feud in 2020.
Drew told Fightful that the timing would have been perfect last year, but his second knee surgery derailed the plans. McIntyre told us that he was disappointed when Jinder Mahal went down with the injury, and thought there was a lot of cool stuff they could have done together. He was excited to be able to start down that path again for Summerslam 2021. Mahal also confirmed to us that he was under the impression this was the plan in 2020 as well before the knee injury.
