Update on Sasha Banks
Added 2021-08-22 00:07:27 +0000 UTCTo follow up on the Sasha Banks situation, Raj Giri has reported that Sasha Banks was off of tonight's show. Fightful Select had spoken to people today who weren't sure what exactly was going to happen tonight, but the plan as of Smackdown was to promote the match as if it were going to happen. To kill an incorrect story that circulated last night, Sasha Banks' absence from Smackdown was not planned as a part of the story. Even beyond that, WWE had hoped to get Megan Thee Stallion involved in the show as recently as a week ago.
Those we've heard from say they haven't seen Sasha Banks backstage at all today, though that is hardly a confirmation of her not being in the building. The match was originally slated to go on fifth on the PPV for the night, but we aren't sure how that could be affected

Ain’t it weird that Sasha was seen out Friday night with Bayley and Kalisto but didn’t show up to work the next day? And ain’t it weird that Sasha didn’t show up to Smackdown that same night she was out? I get people have a lot of issues with WWE management, but shouldn’t we be asking questions about Sasha herself?

Plus why would the WWE hide some one having COVID. But another Contract scandal would be mor believable for me.

I still don't think its appropriate to promote the match if there is no chance of it taking place. Much like promoting Charlotte Flair for a house show when they knew she was going to be in Mexico for AAA mania.
