WWE Not Getting Talent Vaccine Through Company

Yes I am aware. That’s why I said it could be better. At the same time, I’ve recovered from Covid and I’m under the impression you don’t need to get tested multiple times a week because it takes 2-14 days(usually between 5-7) to develop symptoms so if you test negative on Monday, it’s highly unlikely (although not impossible) that you would test positive on Wednesday. That being said, let’s just give them that for a second. Let’s say that that’s the issue. So at most, WWE should increase testing throughout the week at the PC. I’ll go along with that. I still don’t see where that lines up to WWE needing to set up vaccines through the company. Increased testing I’ll agree with. That doesn’t mean they should set up their own vaccines because, for the talent, I’m struggling to see what the benefit is of having the company do it as opposed to you doing it yourself.

I posted well before this that it wasn't in relation to jumping the line. You're a subscriber, so I'm gonna assume you've seen the reports of 5 days a week training with only one test per week at the PC.

Im actually fine with this, at least this way folk will get the vaccine cause they'll be organising it themselves, cause lets face it wwe have dealt abysmally with the covid pandemic.

This thought that WWE is somehow different is kinda mind boggling. Most jobs, unless you’re a frontline health care worker, don’t schedule vaccines. Nor do they schedule testing. I understand they slacked off March through June. That was a problem. But they’ve been testing regularly ever since. Could it be better? Yeah but the notion that WWE should set up vaccines for the wrestlers is ridiculous. Number one it’s not available to them yet anyway except for probably Ric Flair and Vince. Number two, it’s free of charge. What is stopping the talent from just picking up the damn phone(when it’s their time) and scheduling their own vaccination? Just because WWE calls doesn’t mean they’re gonna get to jump the line and get vaccinated before other people so there’s no reason why they can’t just schedule their own appointment.

I work from home but for a mental health company doing utilization Review. We of course give the vaccine to those workers on the inpatient and residential programs. They apparently gave out work 4 times the amount we asked and now we can get them. Yes, most places do not distribute vaccines to their employees. However, a company that requires them to travel weekly and in close contact many of occasions (not to mention the shoddy precautions and testing from the company as reported here) and then you add the fact they are a billion dollar corporation (other corporations are giving vaccines to their employees) then yes, they should be able to distribute this to their talent and production staff who are at shows weekly. It’s not like they can’t make it happen or could get help from the Florida Governor to get some vaccines. You can get some freezers and distribute them in an office at the PC or wherever.

Maybe the company isn't obligated as some have stated but doesnt mean they shouldn't provide it for them anyways. They place these demands on the talent that puts them in harms way, least they could do is help them out with providing vacines if they decide they want them, as a make good.

it's also not about cutting in line--it's about subsidizing something we literally will need to survive. we're getting it the same time it's available to everyone, we're just not paying for it ourselves

my workplace is getting us vaccines. a lot of companies here are in the process of doing so for their employees. it's the least they could do if they want us to return to work.

I do agree with that.

Most jobs don't schedule vaccines, no. WWE has their trainees at the PC five days a week with no testing. "Stop biting the hand that feeds them" is one of the most dumbass comments I've seen after the past year and the danger many were put through. No testing from March through June.

Most of our jobs don’t schedule our vaccines for us why should anybody else’s. They need to be responsible enough to fit that into their own schedule and stop biting the hand that feeds them!

If there was a vaccine against talent, would WWE give it to their wrestlers to prevent them from becoming too big a star? WWe prefers to promote the brand itself, not the individual wreslters these days.

I do agree with they should not cut in line aspect. A lot of people were upset about athletes getting the COVID test before others. On the other hand it just plays more into the WWE Superstars are "Independent Contractors" don't get me started.

Hmm, it will be interesting to see if WWE is going to encourage talent to get vaccinated once it is available if many high level people in WWE don't even believe COVID is real or think wearing masks is necessary.

I don't think it is about cutting in line for vaccines. I just think when the vaccine becomes more use for in the public tat WWE Should offer at least try educate their talent to get the vaccine. Just to let them know. Sports will be doing the exact same thing.

Same, this doesn't seem as heartless as it sounds. My job isn't going to acquire and pay for us to get vaccines. Meanwhile my friend who works in the medical field is getting vaccinated this week.

I don’t see a problem with this. Why should WWE cut the line and get the vaccines ahead of people who need them more? Kind thinking on their part.
