Overanalyzing Korra: A Leaf in The Wind

That’d be great if they explored it, but those themes in the probending get all of two minutes of screentime. Can’t give artists credit for ideas they *could’ve* explored

Ok, just watching this now, but I'm impressed that you're totally overanalyzing a series you professed to not have watched super multiple times! Personally, I loved Korra, though with a lot of reservations, mostly around the annoying teen romance and some of the side characters. Also, I'm impressed with the judicious clips that evaded DMCA takedowns: there's no scalable way to get around that these days, much as I miss the original OA episodes that ended up getting taken down frequently. Bravo!!

probending also serves as a symbol of the evolution of bending in a post-war society. It reflects a significant shift from the primarily combative and elemental mastery of bending to a more structured, rule-bound, and spectator-oriented sport. In this new era, benders like Mako and Bolin aren't soldiers or warriors by necessity; they are athletes, celebrities even, navigating the complexities of a world where bending has become as much about entertainment and competition as it is about cultural heritage and self-defense. It’s an intricate dance of the old and new worlds, traditional powers in a contemporary setting.
