its interesting for hobby artist like i am too. what to draw when you do portrait and dont do comission bcs with a job you cant art comissions in time but you like to sell it. not focus at the money just cause its cool to sell your art. And ofc i dont wanna draw Justin Bieber lol. I mean who is buying portraits of random people he doesnt know!? Can you draw me a portrait of my daughter? Sry no time but you can buy one of my daughter, i have it right here...

2021-11-06 15:26:16 +0000 UTCThis sounds like a very cool idea, Denise. The bottom line is that a portrait isn't always about a portrait. Study commission portraits and then study portraits that are studies of a character or a study of the light on the model. There are subtle differences.

I love painting people and keep coming back to your Patreon because you are the best at the basics of drawing, painting and materials when it comes to the face. I have a question for you- since you are an artist selling work as well as a teacher, how does an artist paint a face that anyone would want to buy. I've done many commissioned portraits for people but would like to sell my work online and in a gallery. Who off the street would want to buy a portrait of my daughter? How would I paint it so that they might buy it? I'm sure you have addressed this but I missed it. Perhaps you could do a lesson/discussion on this.
