Big fan of the pod! The Trump death bit so good. But I’d urge people not to fall into the trap of supporting NIMBYist campaigns like No Orange Heights. Developers aren’t saints, but blocking housing only worsens California’s crisis. The original plan for 4,100 homes got slashed to 1,180, with 90% of the land preserved. Honestly, we should be building more, not less. Killing projects like this doesn’t stop demand - it just forces sprawl, drives up prices, and screws over renters and first-time buyers. And, frankly, the "affordable housing" argument is a cynical non-starter. Yes, we need more affordable housing, but California’s crisis is fundamentally driven by a general housing shortage, *not just* a lack of below-market units. NIMBYs use this argument to block all development while (usually) not pushing for zoning reform or public funding. If they cared, they'd invest more of their efforts in positively advocating for the building of affordable homes, rather than obstructing all other forms of desperately needed housing where shortages are the most acute. Housing and conservation aren’t mutually exclusive, and the housing project being opposed in your podcast actually seems like a fair compromise. I would respectfully encourage people to INSTEAD support groups like People for Housing OC!! https://www.peopleforhousing.org

Dana Snyder (ATHF) would be a fun guest, they recently complimented Tim & Eric on their new podcast with MC Chris.
