Feeling good today, finally but yesterday my heath felt like it took a step backwards. Was coughing all morning and had the chills... was so damn tired I couldn't do much but lie around and nod off... About an hour before showtime, I rallied and felt my energy perking up and by showtime I was ready to go... It was a lovely show and someone proposed to their girlfriend on the stage. Great crowd, nice people... it really was the key to me getting through the show.
We have the day off tomorrow and get to rest up for the final swing back home!
Sorry these diaries have been a little lackluster. With the cold and sickness, there just hasn't been much going on... Oh I guess this is something: Last night Connor's denim vest caught fire when he leaned into a candle in the green room. It was quickly doused but made for some excitement!
Tonight, I'm told Phil Braun has purchased time during my set for some reason? we are fighting it in court but not sure we can prevent it.
Monday we're in Atlanta and I can give you a sneak peek: the Great Puddles Pity Party will be joining us for a song....
and then St. Petersburg and Orlando before the final final push west.
Despite the cold and the sickness and the slog, the crappy dressing rooms, and the not exactly full rooms, I still love everyone on this bus more than ever. God Bless the VGB

The live OHL ep was a pleasant surprise, the tip of the iceberg of greater joy, a bulwark, that you and your artist friends bring to this corner of the world. I finally came up with a question for the next Tour related to your work-life balance and how the line seems blurred for your prolific polymath lifestyle (for musical heads: "Why do you write like you're running out of time" pops in my head from Hamilton's "Non-stop") It’s always a privilege to get a peek into that, but, for those of us that care, we do want ~you~ to take care of yourself. So please get some rest when you can in between all your hard work. On a more serious note: can someone record Phil’s takeover like the one at Two Tims? We can tell Phil it's not for any litigious reason 😉

Had Father John Misty and Destroyer not been playing a sold-out show at the 2,300 capacity Ryman Auditorium last night, the Basement East would’ve been full. It was full with loyal fans last night and I’m glad the sickness may be starting to fade. Keep coming back to Nashville we love ya here!
