Tour Diary: Part 6
Added 2025-02-09 16:22:37 +0000 UTCGood morning from snowy Boston where we're parked outside the venue we're no longer playing at... We're moving from The Royale to the Sinclair... a better room I'm told. Here'd the headline: I have a cold!! It started in Pittsburgh, I was feeling really run down then in the night, woke up with a tightness in the chest and a cough... By Philadelphia I was feeling it and trudged through the set, which was full of surprises: Pat Finnerty came up and jammed with us on a few tunes, and then Kurt Vile joined us for Siren of Titan... We've been covering George Harrison's Wah- Wah every night and someone on the bus, maybe josh had the great idea to put up the Wawa logo on the screen every time we sung the chorus! It was very funny!
had after the show I said a few hellos to the packed green room and quietly ducked out to the bus where I went right to sleep. We arrived in Brooklyn in the morning and I didn't leave the bus all day. I got some Pho delivered to the bus... a dangerous new innovation. Snow was coming and I was feeling stressed about the big new york show and was right in the middle of the cold cycle. But I managed to get myself right for the show after resting all day and I think gave one of my better performances of the tour. Adrenaline is quite a powerful drug and it got me through the night. Kyle Mooney had such a good time on the west coast shows, he joined us for a reprise of his bit, which was hilarious as ever...

I was feeling good after the show and spent some time with some friends who came to the show... James Austin Johnson among them. our own Sarah Sherman was there and I called her out towards the end of the show, but she'd left already, panicked over the snowfall starting to envelope the city. At the same time, Eric and our commercial company were at the DGA Awards and I was waiting to hear from them if we won Best Directors for the Cerave commercial... alas we lost... I took a swig on NyQuil and passed out. I woke up at 4am and was up sniffling and coughing for a few hours before konking again and now I've got a NyQuil hangover.
The shows have been fun, with Cleveland and Pittsburgh taking top spots so far... and everyone is having a good time, and enjoying each other's company, but the cold weather is taking a toll on us... A night off - where we're watch the birds vs the chiefs somewhere... Go birds obviously... Then boston tomorrow (please take note of the venue change...) and finally then heading south. I need you, "the south" I need some Vitamin D badly.
OK, back to doing nothing. p&l - t

2025-02-12 11:13:39 +0000 UTCI'm getting over also having a bad chest cold! Being pregnant and sick sucks, because I can't guzzle NyQuil and DayQuil. I just had to drink OJ and tea, plus get plenty of rest. I hope you get well soon, Tim! ✌🏼❤️✨ -Ash

2025-02-09 22:07:27 +0000 UTCThe Pittsburgh show was incredible. Some of the best sounding live music I’ve heard in a bit. Props to you and the band! Loved how the venue is also a converted old moose lodge.

2025-02-09 22:04:30 +0000 UTCGet better Tim! I was shocked you were going out in the winter to begin with, thankful you did, best tour of the century! Fisherman’s Friend lozenge always got me thru some cold days of touring.

2025-02-09 19:55:40 +0000 UTCAwww sorry about your cold (I've heard eating can help get through it quicker or it gives you energy to help fight the symptoms) glad you get a day to rest and rehydrate!

2025-02-09 18:49:33 +0000 UTCThanks for pushing through despite being sick. Relieved this started after your birthday but still sucks while you need to perform. Despite all that, your showmanship skills sound like they're really helping out--you just look like you're having so much dang fun. Super infectious (your energy, not the cold). Please get a lot of rest!

2025-02-09 16:48:01 +0000 UTCREST REST REST. SLEEEEEP. Are you actually able to sleep in a bunk on the bus or are you having to sprawl across coach seats? If the latter PLEASE treat yo’self to a reasonably affordable hotel room and GET INTO A REAL BED for a spell. (It can totally be the Linton Travel Tavern. Just don’t turn to the adult TV channels. #ImAlanPartridge)

2025-02-09 16:32:40 +0000 UTCBrooklyn was phenomenal last night! Was in the front row shouting along. Wah-Wah was unbelievably good and having thought of the Wawa connection before, I thought the projection was hysterical. Also we had no idea you had a cold!
