Greetings From Barcelona
Added 2024-10-19 09:50:51 +0000 UTCHey folks. thanks for the kind words on the record. Very excited to have it out in the world for you all to absorb and sit with.
I'm on day 6 of my time here in Barcelona, directing a commercial, which we'll shoot early next week. Staying at a very nice hotel in the center of town, and in between casting sessions, location scouting, and general prep for the spot, I've gotten to eat a lot of great food, see some truly marvelous sights and meet some lovely people.
I had no real perception of Barcelona as a city before landing and did very little research on the place before departing. I'd never been to Spain and kind of thought of Barcelona as a smaller beach town for some reason. But no, it's obviously much more than that. It's a thriving, modern metropolis, pocketed with beautifully grand architecture, plazas, wide walking boulevards, endless cafes, bars, and restaurants that spill out onto the street.
On Thursday, I visited the Guadi'a Casa Batllo, and The Picasso Museum... very nice, very nice. Gaudi was nuts! more on him later... But who knew Picasso painted THAT much! Good painter!

This morning, I went to Guadi's La Sagrada Familia Basilica which properly blew my mind.
me and my producer and production manager, two affable brits who are making for good company joined me and the local production company arranged for a private tour guide to take us around and explain what the hell was going on with the place. The exterior was impressive enough, but when we walked in I burst out in amazed laughter. It was like being transported to another planet. I have rarely experienced anything so shockingly impressive and beautiful.
The weather's been kind, the city's alive and I'm walking around still trying to process where I am. I'm grateful for the work and happy to see the place, but after a year of nearly constant work travel, I'll be happy to head back west.
I hope you're having a great weekend! Adios! -t

2024-10-22 22:47:57 +0000 UTCIt's impossible not to leave Barcelona without becoming obsessed with Gaudi. Glad to see you had the chance to visit! I used to think I'd die before they'd ever finish it but fingers crossed 2026 is actually it (I'm sure world war 3 will make it a casualty before then, so ya know, don't vote trump in guys! Europe, nay, the World, is counting on you!)

2024-10-19 13:52:49 +0000 UTCSpent a week in Barcelona 10 years ago and it is amazing. Hopefully you get some more time to wonder and relax before you had back. Its one of the great cities of the world a true gem. Guadi blew my mind as well. Nothing can really prepare you for Sigrada Familia.
