Here's the Dave Itzkoff piece Tim mentioned in the story that starts aroud 01:45:00: https://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/13/arts/television/destroying-television-toon-by-toon.html (archive copy here: https://archive.ph/WxZjB) --- The "Adult Swim" creators acknowledge that there are many stigmas to overcome. "I went home to see my family for Christmas," said Mr. Heidecker, of "Tom Goes to the Mayor," and "I was trying to enjoy myself, but this one uncle of mine, the first thing he says to me is, 'I saw your cartoon, but somebody has to explain what's funny about it to me."' Suffice it to say that Mr. Heidecker's response to his uncle would not be appropriate for a cartoon show.

I would love this but Tim would get instantly uncomfortable with Stav's, lets say, uncouth humor.

If you're reading this Jake Nukem from the Zoom Room: Record Safari in Atwater Village has fantastic stuff, it's a fave. Not to miss! They have pristine used stuff and it's really fairly priced. One of the best shops in the city if not in the state IMHO. Have a fun visit!

Branleigh

Check out very good new record from Geordie Greep!

Björn Lindgren

stav is good but has sort of cashed in with the rogan crowd , disappointing to see

Andreas Wilson

I would love to see Doug make a Library record of all his jingle instrumentals. Awesome stuff.

I did not like megalopolis and stated such. I thought civil war was ok. But ultimately unsatisfying and fake smart. -Matt

I'm so elated that the two keyboards of many that I've kept through multiple years and moves, are also loved by Vic & Doug. The SK-1 & PSS-270. Pleasure & Love x4

o=O=o Ode to (Joy) Tim o=O=o A picture is worth a thousand words I've written so much, but they seem for the birds So I'll attempt to capture what I see, in rapture Tim tried his hand as a peeping Pan 🐐 specs made him look smart like Dr. San 🤓 But for all of the goofs at our favorite doofus Some things still need to be spoken certain cycles broken 👊 The quickness 💨 of Hermes imbues Tim’s wit I find it reflected in the twitch of his lip that curls up in a smile that charms ✨ filled with a mirth that disarms backed by talent only Apollo could give 🏛️ to quite a unique person that ever did live (even if he can be, to himself, dismissive) “What further wonders will we behold? How much more will he break the mold?” I ask (and cajoled 🙃) for him to let the drama unfold! 💥 [Special thanks to Doug for that rap pad recc 👌]

marshy

Melissa

Is it just me or is that Barry Greenfield “John Paul George and Ringo” song at the break the most unsettling, creepy thing shown in a segment normally reserved for the absurd

Stu Walker

Vic and Tim giggling and Tim saying he doesn't know what's going on and then the album cover coming in saying "Tim Heidecker - Slipping Away" 😂

Hanz

That was top notch
