Greetings From Cocoa Beach, Florida!

Good morning from Cocoa Beach, FL! We're on our last day here, flying back to LA later this afternoon. I was a really nice week of family times and some true relaxation with a healthy amount of productive work mixed in. The kids and my nephew stayed at my dad's place while me, Marilyn and my sister took quiet refuge in an Air B&B a few miles down the beach. We got lots of beach and pool time in with my dad, his GF and the kids, but were able to spend quiet mornings and evenings away, on our own.

Cocoa Beach is just about 20 miles south of Cape Canaveral and on Monday night, Space X launched a rocket which we could all see from the beach. It was quite impressive. The bright glow of the boosters was unmistakable and then a few minutes later we received the low, eerie rumbling boom of the sound of it, which lingered on for an unnerving amount of time.

I like my little dips into Florida. Too bad it's a Fascist's playground. The warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean are just so nice. Some nice waves, but nothing too hard to handle for a boogie board. The kids just LIVED in them. No one was even remotely eaten by a shark.

Yesterday, I shot a little music video for the new record with my dad on the beach that was a little annoying for everyone, especially my wife who had to be the Director of Photography, but it came out great and you're all gonna love it when it comes out in a month or two.

Obviously, I'm very excited about finally announcing the new record and I can't wait for you all to hear it in full. I'm pleased with how it was received, albeit with my usual haters chiming in. I've seen a few people mention that it's a rip on "Never Going Back Again" from Fleetwood Mac and yes definitely when I was writing it, I was playing around with that riff and you can hear a little of it it as I play the song for the band, but once they working with it, the riff kind of disappears and I don't think the final product has much of that DNA left in it at all. What do you think?

People giving notes on the mix and the lack of chord changes... well, I think people have just been Beato-pilled! haha

I'd very much appreciate it if you'd give it a pre-order to show Bloodshot Records they made a safe bet on ole Timmy.  Also stream the single and share it with pals. It really helps and I'm pretty sure your moms and dads and uncles and aunts would dig it.

If you're in the market for more of my malarkey, the live podcast I did with David Cross is now available. I was a last minute unannounced replacement for Tig Notaro who was to sub in for Will Arrnett, so I was feeling a bit nervous and expected to disappoint. i had a few beers in me and it was hot up there and so that's why I was BEET red! I think I held my own against the quick wit of Cross...

We're just DAYS away from another SUPER TUESDAY with the full Trinity and one of my favorite new comedians Robby Hoffman

See you then friends!

Peace and Love, T

I don't think a folk style guitar part in cut time automatically means it's ripping off "Never Going Back Again"

Catching up on the Updates here T - preordered the new record bundle. Hyped! I hope you bring out a few of the finalized tunes for the August Central Park show.

I saw my first beato video yesterday, was a tuber called munecat just going through one of his videos and Jesus Christ, he's like the bill Maher of music production. How can someone be that involved with but miss the point of art completely? The on cinema Tim character could learn a thing or two from beato going forward, make the show even more about "music" now that dekkar are stronger than ever (sorry Gregg)

No wonder you have to put your dad in the video since he took your cute hellions off your hands 🙃 Very cool to see what a family affair your music life can be though. It's clear how important your musical expression is to you. Your slices-of-life always gives me diabetes. love the behind-the-scenes, too (crossing swords with Cross 😮) Thanks for sharing! See you tomorrow

Tim recommended Connor's special on a recent episode. It is very Heidecker-y, in the best way possible!

Will Ochs

Platter ordered. I like the amount of drinks you brought out on set. Zesty.

Having an issue on the website! Won’t let me pre-order, keeps making me click “OK” to allowing cookies, and the ‘Secure Checkout’ button isn’t functioning. Will try again later but just FYI, if you’re reading this Bloodshot!

We took a trip from Miami to St Augustine with the kids a few moths back. I was amazed at how quickly things change culturally and politically the further north you go. Definitely got the sense of being 'outsider' which is a feeling I've never had in America before. I'm Irish, wife and kids are British. Bonded with a Trump supporter over U2 t-shirt I was wearing. Never underestimate Bono's ability to bring people together.

Sheridan Flynn

Got mine pre-ordered. Looking forward to it. And nice work on the Senses Working Overtime. An enjoyable listen.

You are a genius! Love Wells Running Dry and placed my order : ) Years ago I thought the "ABSOLUTELY" guy was Sean Cassidy in middle age. My son enlightened me a couple of years ago.

Mary Newman

No disrespect, but I wish 'Well's Running Dry' was a minute longer. But, the shortness works with the theme of the song. So, I take it back! It's a gem with a perfect length. I am looking forward to hearing it live in September in VA. P&L!

T, the dad joke you told to Cross (“They’re my age”) made me chuckle out loud. I can not understand how Cross, the audience and my friend I told all seemed so confused by it. Also, have you watched Connor O’Malley’s Standup Solutions special? Highly recommend it.

Chad

As an ex-Floridian non-Fascist who enjoys a visit now and then, I really feel that love-hate dilemma. It’s a pretty extraordinary state. Glad you had a nice time there & love the new tune ✌️

T, I need that country track you played during the tour badly. Pre-order ✅

BITKORN

Great song and great video. Always love to see The Very Good Band in their element. The love you guys have for each other is palpable. Question for you, Tim—what brand are your eyeglasses? I need some new ones and yours look really sharp.

William Riley

I think art is about taking what materials already exist in the world and adding your own self to them to make something new. I trace photos and reference photos for my art pretty often. Your song is inspired by other songs but it's yours because you added yourself to it, it has your life and everyone's lives who worked on it mixed in. It's a new original thing. Who cares if it's a riff. Eff the haters.

Melissa

When are you gonna get Beato on the show???

Dan Reeter

What a great week for me. I love the David cross podcast, and seeing you on it was fantastic. Also. I live in orlando. The fact you spend time in central florida just makes me love you more. You understand what I'm dealing with here a bit.

Jonathan d dockery

Tim was great on David Cross show

Missed you by a few weeks! Love some time in Cocoa Beach. My family and I do it every year. Still has that ‘old Florida’ feel. I know Florida gets a bad rap (and for good measure) but there’s still some decent people inhabiting my home state. Keep that in mind come tour time 😉 loved your Two Tims show in Tampa last year! Happy Saturday!

Jeff Brody

So excited for Central Park show, going to bring some friends who know your tv stuff but not the music. They are excited.

Adam Gutman

Love you and your music, Tim! My dad will indeed enjoy ❤️

Hanz

I was in cocoa beach years ago. Love the new song Tim ..excited for the album.

Natty Norts

Sounds like a lotta fun!
