Flew in Monday night. I decided on flying in later in the day, but not a full red eye and it was a big mistake. I left LA at 4:30pm and landed around 1am - it was 2am by the time I got to my hotel and I could NOT get to sleep. So I just tossed and turned... Luckily I didn't have much planned for the morning.
I'm here on a movie. A much smaller movie than the Albuquerque (red squiggly line) movie, but a much bigger part - I'd say the biggest movie role I've had since The Comedy. It's a movie from Charlotte Ercoli... the coolest of cool kids will know who she is (I didn't) and I shouldn't say much more about it.
On monday we met up in the Upper East Side to rehearse and get to know each other a bit in person (we'd been zooming and talking on the phone for the past month or so) It was a tad surreal, as we were meeting at her boyfriend's dad's home office - and her boyfriend is Owen Kline who's dad's first name is? Kevin! I know Owen well enough and had met Kevin when he brought him to an On Cinema show in Brooklyn a few years ago. Kevin Kline is an On Cinema head! I didn't see him at the office, but we're planning on getting together at some point during my stay here.
The rest of the week has been rehearsing, getting a terrible haircut for the movie, fittings for my wardrobe and that sort of stuff. We start shooting tomorrow. I'm staying very close to where I stayed when we shot the Michael Cera commercial and it's pretty damn nice - on the border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg - and area I know too well from my New York days in 2000-2004 - an area that has changed dramatically, but still has a lot of the same haunts I'd hit with my friends - great Polish food, great pizza. It's a fun place to walk around and I've been doing a lot of that in my free time. don't be shy if you see me pass by!
Last night, I went to SNL as the guest of our own Sarah Sherman! I'll have more to say on that, as Matt, Doug, Vic and I are about to record a special Office Hours Unplugged episode that will air later this week! I will spill ALL the tea!

Last Place on Earth is a really sweet coffee shop / board game cafe, ive been there a few times. Pyza is prob my favorite polish spot (awesome golabki) along with the pierogis at the Warsaw if I’m there for a show :)
