Comin Up!

Good morning, did you take out the trash?

Hey that was a fun one! Thanks to Kyle Dunnigan for calling in and the always hilarious Kate... was a SWEATY one for some reason and my pits were SOPPING.

I teased some announcements for next week and I don't want to spoil anything here, but I will give you the inside tip that you've got more On Cinema stuff coming. Some pieces coming in the next few weeks that will answer some lingering questions... THAT'S ALL I'll SAY!

and I'll have a few more live dates to announce that will be happening around the late summer Waxahatche shows - one that's very cool if you like New York and... parks. And there'll be some news about the new record. Yep. A new record is finally coming folks. I can't wait for you to hear it and talk about it and HOLD it.

We're coming in early on Tuesday because I've got a 2-week movie gig in New Mexico starting on Wed. We've got a great guest host lined up for the week I'm out, but I'll be back the next week for the regularly scheduled Thursday.

After the show on Thursday, we shot a pre-tape of band that we're all really excited for... we wanted them live but the schedule didn't work out so we took what we could get and that will air in the coming weeks. Man, they tore down the damn garage. Can you name these fellas?

yesterday, I had nothing on the calendar, so I was planning on a lazy day when Fred texted me: Hey, I'm doing something down at Sunset Sound are you around to come help with it? Sure! I went over and I shouldn't say anything about what it was but it was fun and stupid and we had a good laugh over it. You can see evidence of my time with Fred on his Instagram where I helped him promote his show in Milwaukee... I hope all my Milwaukee Patrons scoop of tickets to his show at Turner Hall!

In the studio next door was Shooter Jennings working on a new record, so we went over and said hello. I didn't know him except that his dad is one of my all time favorites and I'm sure I've recommended his record "Dreamin My Dreams" which I would put on a list of Top 20 records of all time. Give it a spin!

 Sunset Sound is where I met and spent some time with the late great David Crosby a few years back and those memories flooded back. Man, how great is being in a studio? Especially one as legendary as Sunset Sound.

We've settled on Godzilla x King Kong this afternoon and so I will report back on what I expect to be a very VERY good movie. A film, in fact.
