We had a blast unveiling our brand new set with comedian Aparna Nancherla discussing her memoir "Unreliable Narrator: Me, Myself, and Impostor Syndrome," musician John Carroll Kirby performing "Oropendola" from his new album Blowout available now on Stones Throw Records  (54:55), and we revealed the new nickname for corn! PLUS Uncle Phil gave us the inside scoop from "The Laugh Supper" with Jim Carrey (1:16:30), Doug's Guess the AI Prompt game (1:28:58), a deep dive into the Rock and Romance Cruise (1:44:50), and a competing TimFest host with a bone to pick (1:58:52). Missed opportunity to dive deep into Connan, the man never does interviews or promos. Incredible artist! Maybe next time :)

Luke Thomas

does Doug use a Roland MX-1? That thing was destined to add reverb to fart sound effects the second it left the production line

owen

Anxiety quickly ascends When others may see our pretense We worry and fret But please don’t forget We get by with some help from our friends ✌️💙

John Carrol Kirby makes some really beautiful music and is super underrated; even though he's put out 9 albums in the last 7 years. plus his work with Eddie Chacon! great booking Matt!

westend_td

It’s on max and it’s so good

KatieMoe

you went on the cruise, didn't you

Sam Sawtell

Great show boys. Is anyone else a fan of this song of Sean Lennon from ‘98? Love this one https://open.spotify.com/track/16OZg86ObQmn9LVvadvGab?si=bc4fddedec7944dd

Theodore Atwood

JCK had a cool video series called Kirby’s Gold on YT a few years back, worth a watch!

JS

You were a good sport with the (other) Timfest guy

Brock Judkins

I thought that first AI art of Tim was Pete Holmes 😂 Amazing interlude, Vic

Brock Judkins

Am I doing something wrong? Constant ads when I stream this using the YouTube app to Apple TV.

Sloan

Connan Mockasin makes really beautiful music Cap’n! Please have the trinity listen to the Jassbusters album if at all possible, and I know they’ll want to have him back for a nice chat. Great episode as always ❤️

Mihajlo Kos

If I can add somewhat of a contrasting opinion here, I really liked the new background and set design. Gives everything a fresh, bright feel. I really liked the shelves and trinkets, and how they highlight Doug and Vic’s tastes, interests, and show callbacks. I PARTICULARLY thought it was cool when the lights dimmed and you could just see a silhouette of the boys jamming out and grooving to the musical performance. That would be a cool thing to carry over to multiple performances. Anyway, thanks for always making me laugh!

Loved the Connan Zoom! I figured Cap’n Carlin would’ve been familiar as well? Forever 🐬 💜

Stu Walker

The magic is back lads. Great show and the new set rocks. Well done and Thank You all for the laughs and insights

James Conrathe

Incredible vibes on this episode. Aparna fits in like one of the guys, and JCK’s rendition of one of my favorite tracks of his was so inspiring. Welcome back!

Brandon Martin

What was Naparna’s recommendation? Couldn’t quite figure out what words were said between my bad hearing and the supposed bad title

Jesse Hurley

This is sincere P&L constructive criticism and I really appreciate it! Maybe down the road the wall color will change or the desk color will change, but it's really up to Tim :) Decorating for camera is indeed totally different than decorating a regular room, so lots of things will be adjusted in time I'm sure!

Ellen Connaughton

AI fred armisen is just brent weinbach

marshy

Vic video break was insane amazement

Journe

hell yeah the mizell brothers. vic's got good taste.

marshy

Goose

Was surprised when Connan Mockasin appeared and Doug seemed to be the only one of the trinity to know who he was lol great show as always 🤠❤️ I hope Weird Al Pacino comes back soon

Tom

Sasha blaring the car alarm in the boys' headphones is maybe the funniest thing thats happened since the bings and bongs calamity

Johnnee

Man, overnight Cap’n Crunch really got me

William Riley

Camera was fine, the window frame/tv’s are uneven. Fixing for next week. Office hours like life itself is a work in progress! Thanks for your support (not being facetious) 🫡 -Matt

Tim Heidecker

That was my favorite musical guest youve had yet! loved it so much

o

holy shit yes.

Tim Heidecker

john carroll kirby is channeling the look of the evil version of Dale Cooper love it

skeletonmeat

The Tastington's drops get me every single time

Josh Hunt

Don't get the 70s cruise bit. Is the gag that people are enjoying live music acts on a cruise they... paid to be on? Seemed like someone just making fun of something just because they don't personally like it.

Count Crackula

I think they call it PornHub

rainbowdark

Melissa is really great

Tyler Burnett

That was fun! Thanks for a great first Zoom Room immersive experience.

Sasha Chimaera Suraski

With P&L, some hopefully constructive criticism about the new studio. (I realize it's brand new and you're still dialing it in) The feeling seems to be anti-curtain now, but i think they looked nice, and lended themselves to a more high contrast environment where it was easier to see things. Ex: Doug and Vic in the background. There was just two or three colors behind each of them before, making them easier to see / sharper when the camera is primarily focused on Tim. The black on their desks helped with that too. They seemed blurry and washed out today from that vantage point with the more busy "window" behind them and the light wooden desks further brightening the scene. Maybe slap some paint on those white walls? Also, not quite sure what was going on here but it seemed like the camera on tim was uhh, maybe positioned a bit wonky (?) which makes the new screen appear crooked and is rather disorienting. Anywho, I have no idea what I'm doing. Just reportin' what my eyes see.

rainbowdark

great show, but where the fuuuuck is that creepy magic-wand tantric-massage orgasm-exorcism video from?

Will Ochs

The Boom, Boom, Boom episode of Car 54 Where Are You? is one of my favorite things Vic.

asidbrain
