Doug's Tour Diary Day 16: Philly and NYC
Added 2023-12-10 17:39:37 +0000 UTCI have a video recap for you today as well as some pics. So Philly was probably my favorite show as far as my set goes. Luckily, Lance Bangs and his 9 cameras were there to capture it all. I’ll post it if I ever get the footage! But the crowd was awesome. I zoomed into Office Hours and said that Philadelphia was “miserable” but that was just because it was super cold and windy and the venue was cold too. But Philly is awesome, it reminds me of Chicago. There was a live jazz band and they were incredible, they learned the intro song that we use for the show and nailed it perfectly. They also did a free-jazz meltdown in the middle of the show (that’s the first clip.) In NYC, Mike and I walked around Manhattan for a bit to witness the chaos. We found part of a treadmill and Mike started doing his John Wilson impression, which I found very funny. (How to with John Wilson is top notch, 100% excellent by the way.) After the NYC show, the kids were riled up and they were asking me for souvenirs. One kid asked me if he could have the desk, I obliged and handed it to him and the crowd ripped it apart like a school of piranhas.
In Philly there were extra guests, like the Philly Sport Guy and the rotisseries chicken eating guy. I gotta say, the sports fan dude sure brought a lot of energy.
The guest in NY was Billy Porter, a legit actor and musician. He stole the show though and was game for just about everything Eric threw at him. Possibly the best guest of the whole tour.
Someone dressed up as Kraft Punk and Eric brought him on stage, whoever it was is a natural showman!
Well, I’m back home for two and a half dang days then we finish this off in Seattle, Portland and Oakland starting on Wednesday. I hope to see ya there! BTW I think I found the soup nazi.

Was gonna come see you and Eric in Seattle but the AXS ticketing thing keeps saying I'm a bot and won't let me buy tickets and to go through their support system, but there's already too much paperwork in my life to give a shit about proving I'm a human in a weird reverse-Blade Runner type situation.
